What a war, Foreman surely proved his greatness in this bout, he was as game as they come, each time I watch it I'm rooting for Foreman.

Boy I would have liked to have seen this bout with both in their primes.

For some reason old George had a better chin than young George lmao

He really did the best he could given the circumstances.

Can't go wrong w any Holyfield fight around that time. Deserved his own game for sure lol.

His chin was fine it was his stamina that was his issue so he learned not to exert himself as much in his older age. Fighting Young n Ali with troubling stamina, a reckless style and in very hot conditions did him no favors either.

The only fault I can find is he was winging his right hand a tad too much, the odd time it worked by clubbing Holyfield at the top of the head but I'd have liked to have seen it straighten it out more like he did for the Moorer knockout.

He wasn't gonna beat Holyfield at that time but agreed he put up a great effort. His best overall performance imho post his first retirement. Yes he became champ after this but he didn't look so good his power saved him. Credit for finding Moorers chin tho.

Holyfield played his part too and was great in his own right, not many HW's would have taken those power shots from Foreman, I actually believe that Foreman of that time may have stopped Tyson.

Don’t think it would have made that much difference to the result of the fight. Holyfield proved in this fight that he had a great chin certainly a lot better than Moorers.

Wrong, I just think his style was made for Foreman.

It's possible that you did, that night. George in 91 had lost a bit of explosiveness and hand and foot speed from his 70s incarnation but had gained in other areas - ring IQ, pacing, endurance. If you think what he had gained outweighs what he had lost, then this could well have been the best sum of all George's parts that we saw.

I know what you're saying mate but I have a hard time accepting that this version was the best Foreman ever, especially given the circumstances, the main one being he had a decade of inactivity, I don't think you can ever recover from that.

91/92 was the end of Holyfield’s peak years. But this version of him beats any version of Lewis. People forget that it was another 8 long years before he would meet prime Lewis.

I think so too, Holyfield then was too sharp and too fast, he would have overwhelmed Lewis and thoroughly out fought him.

Funny he couldn't beat Bowe then a guy who did little outside of beating Holyfield and was thrashed by Golota
