Lighting of the photo may have something to do with it. Looks like Holyfield was under bright lights when the 1st photo was taken. And a background, so he would look less muscular. But in the natural settings and different angles from lights he looks more muscular.
But personally, I do believe Holyfield used strength enhancements drugs. The hair loss, the rapid muscle gain, it seemed to start after the 1st Bowe fight. I believe that fight convinced Holyfield he needed more strength and weight to handle hugh skilled men like Bowe.
But it also cost him with speed, endurance and rhythm. He became more plodding, stationary.
Also began to foul more by leading with his head, elbows.

On skills he was. But he needed more power to compete at heavyweight.

The photo is not fake. It shows Holyfield with a belt as a professional, and the transformation he made to heavyweight.on juice.

There was a ride. In this case it was a receding hairline. Holyfield had hair at cruiser weight. Six weeks later he a heavyweight, and he's going bald. Steroids is the only way to gain that kind of muscle mass in such a short time. Overused, it's a way to lose your hair. It is said that Holyfield was a client of the infamous BALCO labs for both fight with Mike Tyson.

That's NOT Devon Alexander , it's Holyfield. 1st photo if I remember right is from KO magazine mid- late 80's.
Back in the day of World Boxing, KO, The Ring, Boxing Illustrated and a number of other great Boxing Mags from the 40's through the 90's.

I think I made my point if you took that literally.

Clearly the article has very little credibility, a 5 seconds search would've told you that the information is incorrect. And while Holyfield's trapezes are definetly suspicious, being at 190 lbs in your early to mid 20s and getting up to 208 lbs by the time you're 30 isn't out of ordinary for HW boxing at all, especially not when we saw Joshua bulk up to 250 lbs in 2 years after turning pro at 230 lbs and then, most recently cutting 10 lbs of pure muscle within 6 months without damaging his body.

I think you're clutching at straws here after your OP getting debunked. Holyfield's hair was exactly the same in his first HW bout against James Tillis as it was in his last CW bout against Carlos de Leon.

I agree with this. Why? Because I was one of those guys who had trouble getting to 175 as a 23 year old at 6' and 160. I grew with age that I'm sure eating habits and certain exercise helped.

But once I got to 175 I started a cycle and then found creatine much safer. This took me to 189 in a month.

If you look at the first Moorer fight, Holy looks WAAAAAY bigger than he did for even Tyson. His traps, delts and especially his lats were unreal. Too much too soon.
