Does it matter if your palm is facing down or towards your face when you throw hooks.. I Tend to throw them with my palm facing my face cause it seems faster and im more on speed than power right now..

i dont think its good to throw them with your palm facing you cause you can bend your wrist in and mess it up.
i throw them with my palm facing down cause it keeps your wrist nice and tight

Now that I think about it... when I counter something with a hook my palm is usually faced down. When I throw a hook in my own attack it's usually towards me. I have no idea what the logic behind this is :)

My trainer always told me it's best to throw a hook when your palms facing down. If a hook is thrown with your palm facing your face im told it's more likely to cause cuts to your oponment, but most judges don't count these as scoring punches in bouts.

I highly doubt that, as long as it's not an open glove punch.

I throw hooks both ways. Palm facing head is more powerful but your opponent can evade and counter more easily, it can also leave you off balance if you don't move your legs the appropriate way.

When you turn your palm down, it's called turning the punch over. You do it right at the moment of contact and it can lock the punch more solidly.

yeah palm down will be more power, the other way is more of a slap, but both are effective

    Are ya'll ****in serious?

You throw a hook with your palm facing you.

Throw the hook like your arm is an immovable steel pipe that can't be bent.

Palm facing you, elbow up, hit with the knuckles.

    ****..............

Keep it close to your body and put you body into it.

That's where your power comes from.

    '

If you get down to a good weight, your hook might be your money punch.

If you keep workin on it, you'll stop people in the amateurs.

Just wait until they drop their hands or you get an angle on them.

They'll get hit a few times and they won't want to fight anymore.
