For one simple reason really: Stevenson isn't that great of a boxer. Adonis likes to load up too much for that straight left hand and Hop will see it a mile away. Everything Stevenson does is predicated on that left hand. I think he'll get frustrated and Hop will take over. It actually wouldn't surprise me to see Hop hurt Adonis considering how many more power shots Hop has thrown in his last two fights.
Maybe I'm just a Hopkins hater and don't realize it (I picked Shumenov), but I can't see it. Stevenson's left is just too fast and sharp.
It all depends on when the fight happens. Hopkins can't continue fighting at this level forever. He does have an expiration date and I think he's aware of it. At this point in time, I see Hopkins beating Stevenson by SD in front of a humongous Canadian crowd. Then all that's left is Kovalev who may get lucky and face an even older Bernard Hopkins.
He might, but I don't think he will. Other as the commentators saw (or told us) B-Hop got tagged quite a couple of times by Schumy. I'm not sure if he can take those shots from a guy like Stevenson. I'll root like hell for B-Hop if that fight happens though.
bhop has said it before if anyone can beat and ko him it would be stevenson...even he says stevenson has very good ring iq and is a very under rated boxer...add that to his power and speed... no way hopkins beats adonis
