Yep. I was going to dissect his post and dismantle it completely, but it'd be a waste of energy. Simply stopped reading a part of the way down. Same old drivel.

Edit: Another fool who doesn't see that by putting Hopkins down, he is inherently putting Calzaghe down for fighting such an unworthy challenger. Oh, and if Calzaghe loses....

Sure they were smaller, but ere they really 'midgets' compared to Hopkins? If you have a valid point, there's no need to exxagerate now is there?

Tarver isn't a "master" by any means, but he was still a very good boxer. I doubt Calzaghe vs. Tarver @ 175 would have been as clear a win for Calzaghe as it was Hopkins either.

The big problem for Hopkins may be his age and what that has to do with Calzaghe's workrate and output, but the huge problem for Joe is that Bernard should be able to display the synchronisms and automatisms at range as well as in close. He has fought a good deal of southpaws in Joe Lipsey, John David Jackson, Robert "armed and dangerous" Allen, Tarver and Wright and showed a perfect understanding of distance and timing to drive accurate, crisp right hands. On the inside, he has that solid combination of lefts to the body and right hands upstairs and in the middle against physically imposing, thicker men ( see vs Robert Allen II - sixth round, and vs Antwun Echols I - ninth round and throughout the Mercado fights) - he can't get tagged at close range cause his chin is well hidden behind his left shoulder and his whole body and head move as a whole. Calzaghe may have an opportunity of a lifetime if Bernard has lost the sharpness to execute at age 43, otherwise I think he'll have nightmares in there.

 

It is illogical fellow Calzaghe fans to tear down this mans legacy.

And to cite the fact that hes old.

We want Calzaghe to get recognition and praise after the fight don't we?

I believe Calzaghe should be too tough a challenge for Hopkins to handle right now ( too busy, too fast handed and big fighting heart) but I commend all Calzaghe fans to watch the fourth round of the second fight against Robert Allen and ask yourselves if Joe can handle that kind of game - Allen was three times on the floor by way of low blows and punches on the break...

I only give credit where it's due, the only way he gets credit from me for beating Hopkins is by destroying him totally.

 

I have been meaning to ask you Amsterdam.

I recall you saying before that a prime for prime showdown between Hopkins and Calzaghe would be a 50-50 toss up over 12 rounds.

And that over 15 rounds Hopkins would be victorious.

This was prior to the Kessler fight.

I recently noticed that you have been saying JC would win 8-4 prime for prime. What has made you change your mind in the months since?
