Cloud was at a lower level known as a big pucher but i think froch has proved at top level he can dig and isnt as bad a boxer as is often portrayed Also he has much more experience of different styles at world level For me carl froch even on a bad day gives hopkins more problems than cloud Only thing in tavoris favour is size which helps during the endless clinching and grappling involved in a bhop fight I think the post that said it wouldnt appeal to casuals,only enthusiasts is spot on But it would definately sell and would push carls resume even further
Have to go with this. There's one fight Hopkins hasn't wanted of late and that was Dawson who was a rangy southpaw who was difficult to engage and establish distance against. Froch's warrior straight line stuff is the exact opposite. And you dont walk through a 60 yr old Hopkins let alone a 48 yr old one like you can a rabbit-in-the headlights Bute.
So the theory that Calzaghe cherry picked his opponents and Froch the warrior fights anyone is all wrong ?
Bhop is a wilier, dirtier version of Ward. As much I like Froch, BHop is all wrong for him. The only way you're going to beat him is through volume punching, and even then he makes you look like **** by making you miss.
Yes And yes again. I like Froch but he has nothing to unduly worry B-Hop. I'm sure Hopkins will be rooting for him vs. Kessler because a Froch fight would be the ideal big one for him to bow out on.
Froch PTS. I don't think B-Hop will get in his mind and Carl won't become scared to throw punches. Sure he's getting hit a fair few times and made to look a fool at times but I think he'll just keep soldering on and can edge enough rounds on activity.
One thing I will say in Froch's favour is that he seems to have shaken off his attitude that he can coast the early rounds and win late. It is possible he could force BHop into an early retreat, but I see Hopkins sitting back and countering,dirtying the **** out of him.
BHop is wily and dirty but you are underestimating Ward there. When push comes to shove Ward is the dirtiest and most ruthless fighter out there today. He will do whatever it takes to win inside and outside of the ring.
One of my favourite non-boxing, boxing moments happened in the Calzaghe v Hopkins fight. It was during one of Hopkins' numerous time wasting efforts, he was on his knees, and Joe came up behind him and did an 'up the arse' dance, much to the amusement of both Sugar Ray Leonard and Sylvester Stallone, who were sitting in the crowd pissing themselves laughing. I enjoyed that. Simple pleasures innit.
