When they were younger fighters, Jones beat BHop. But both fighters still managed to have two separate legendary careers. If they will have a rematch (since Jones is "back") now and assuming Bhop wins, does it erase the stigma brought about by his earlier defeat to Jones. Or will it be another case of too little too late?
At this point, everyone will say the loser was old and shot. It would make a difference for Bernard, and that's what matters.
but doesnt beernard say he aint got roy jones in mind anyway! n if he losesw to calzaghe then the chance for a rematch would be greatly disminshed for evreybody wanting calzaghe(say he wins) to fight jones! B Hop shouldnmt be to worried ion his loss to roy! B Hop was a great fighter n he definally lost to the better man in roy jones that night!
There is no stigma whatsoever in losing to a young Jones who is arguably the number one head to head fighter in history. Still, I take Hopkins in a rematch, and would any time in the past after their first match. I would very much enjoy a rematch between these two and would be willing to pay to see it.
Ditto. To me, it wouldn't matter who won right now. It's not a true reflection of what they were in their younger days. They should've gotten it on around 2002. Shame on them for not making it happen. Whoever won that fight would've enhanced their legacy. Heck, just the fact that they fought each other would've enhanced BOTH their legacies for taking on the best. It's a shame.
