He is probably not too bad suited to MMA. Its seems that guys that have a bit of this and a bit of that go best, rather than focus on just one area. He maybe able to pick up some JuiJitsu to add to some footy wrestle, then add to boxing.
relax. he's not fighting brock lesnar and saying it will be easy. he said maybe it will suit him cause of league background, not he will be unbeatable.
Tend to agree, he'd be far better at this. Boxing required way more skill than he was ever going to have.
I agree also. At a low level in MMA Hoppa should just concentrate on tackling guys to the ground and working solid ground 'n' pound.
i remember a few years ago one of the top fighters claimed most of the footy players would go pretty good if they had a crack at the cage. I cant remember who it was but he was super impressed with them all and even felt luke priddis (of all people?) could have been a champion.
Luck Priddis and Lincon Withers would have both been great wrestlers and MMA fighters IMO. they both could tackle a stampeding Rhino and were both fast and skilled ball players. Especially Withers, that kids was a freak in defence. Anyone remeber what he did to Matt Utai? Best tackle i had ever seen at the time
