He negotiates around Wlad's mandatory deadline.

He gets to pretend he wants the fight

then he can stall putting Wlad in a position he does not want to be in.

I think Haye is waiting for Vitali to retire so he can get the WBC by fighting someone like Peter

and waiting for Wlad to get upset so he has an easier road

Haye will wait until Povetkin settle the date then he will catch Wlad on the escalator
(the one moving opposite direction), embarrass Wlad, punish him with the new t-shirt
and finally make him to eat the bitching tape which he created.

Haye needs to fight a top contender already, if not Wlad, than Povetkin, Adamek of Chambers. Stop being a premadonna and fight a quality opponent already. For God's sake, he's been at HW for nearly 2 years and hasn't been tested properly by top comp. I reserve my judgment about his HW potential until he faces a top live opponent and can prove his HW credentials.

I fell David's career will be as a T-shirt maker if he does not make this fight cause thats about all he has done lately.

Atleast when Ali heckled Liston he fought him.

And as far as the escelator goes he'll never fight Wlad til he thinks hes on the way down

he will fight Valuev next and as a champion it will be real
embarrassment if he run the whole fight as the first time

He proved he can hurt Valuev if he does not stand in there a little more and try for the stop its pretty much a wasted night

nobody is interested in him circling the giant again for 12 rounds

Yeah right, Haye's has plenty of chances to man up and fight and he still hasn't fought them yet.

Haye has time on his side. He's 29. Wlad is 34. Vitali is 39 in July.

So it makes sense to wait. I can see his logic.

**** this I'm fed up of reading about Haye's reasons for not stepping up and fighting the best. Hopefully Chagaev KOs him so the division can move on, I feel like he's taking us all for a ****ing ride!

If we wanted logic, we'd watch chess. Champions don't become great by avoiding the best. Ask Lennox Lewis. He went after Bowe and history vindicated him and cast Bowe as a coward for refusing to make the fight. The same thing will happen to Haye if he dodges Klitchsko.

Thats a great strategy if you are Povetkin or Adamek, by all means get more heavyweight experience and work your way up. Haye is in a completely different boat because he's trash talked from day one, bad mouthing fighters he has no intention of fighting just to get his name in the press.

    Shameful

He losses credibility every month that goes by. If he simply waits and beats Wlad when he's out of his prime, that will fool no one.
