How good is Denton

I ve got to admit Denton Vessel had, up to the Heffron fight, passed me by.
That was the first time Id seen him fight.

I liked his style. Very relaxed staying in punching range. Picked some nice shots. Seemed to have some decent power. Showed a bit of defensive technique. Blocking, slipping, parrying, ducking.

    Overall I was impressed
Heffron was catching him with lefthook counters, but he kept composed, took that shot away from him and went to work himself.

Heffron seemed overmatched , so maybe it was a bit flattering. How would you like to see Denton matched with at 147?

What are peoples opinions on him? And what are some of his fights that are worth watching?

Thing about the guy is he seems too relaxed
When he does his lil weave things he does them kinda slow he could easiily be countered with a uppercut at elite level
He's improvin tho definitely one to watch for the future

I think he'd beat Gavin anyway. European title class, potentially fringe world level.

I'd say he could get to at least European even possibly World level potentially.

Carson Jones if he beats Purdy would be a decent fight or Gavin, if he wins either he should push for a European title fight.

Leonard Bundu is the European champion at 147, never heard of him but he has a decent record so that could be a good fight.

I see where your coming from. Even though he showed plenty of defensive techniques, he still got caught pretty clean a few times.

I cant remember a fighter looking that chilled in punching range.it was impressive

So he s been tested. Has he been knocked down in any of his fights?

Very good. I remember making a thread about Vassell and Bellew when they were both fighting journeymen and noting them as good talents, but they've probably done better than I expected.

Vassell last night was incredibly good for a guy out of the ring for 12 months which everyone knows is **** for a fighter, against a good young fighter too. Rolled the punches well, got under Ronnie and exploited his lack of upper body movement, countered well. That was a really high class performance.

The guy has a really good record for a domestic fighter too. Ushona is a good fighter and Vassell won well. Purdy is very good if you meet him head on, and Vassell got the better of him that way. Heffron was a decent prospect, not great but certainly hungry. Dismantled.

Good performance but I think Heffron made him look great. He would struggle to get off and stay with his opponent if they boxed him.

Thats an opinion, the facts are he has beaten Purdy and Heffron and needs to go for the British or step up to European en route to at least testing himself on a higher level.

He's from Ardwick, what did his Mum do?
Did she throw a dart at a map of Greater Manchester and where it landed was his name.

Good job it didn't land on somewhere really shite like Collyhurst or Moston. imagine that Moston Vassell.
