Hello Youngsters. David Haye is a bad dude but how good is he? I would like to see Haye fight an in shape James Toney. If Haye can put the lights out for Toney he has a future at HW. Toney would be a good test for Haye just as Jimmy Young was a good test for Big George. Opinions please..:think

Haye has natural athletic talent. if he has played Rugby he would be pro, if he was American he would be in the NFL or NBA right now.

There have been lots of stuff in the papaers this week about him as an amateur, and how he never out the effort in but was still so far ahead of everyone one else. I remember seeing something on youtube where the england team faces russia and all our fighters got destroyed apart from Haye.

Well, wouldn't he be considered the most talented HW in terms of just raw talent right now? It will be interesting to see what he can do. Anytime a cruiserweight moves up, the question of his chin and how much power he can take up to the next level are always the two big question marks right? But in terms of just raw talent, this guy is pretty special.

It seems his greatest talent is the ability to take what should properly be a HW body, along with what appears to be HW power, and make weight at CW. Who at CW could possibly compete against that? He dwarfed Maccarinelli. Hell, even my wife, who couldn't give a rat's ass about boxing, when seeing Haye in the wring asked "the guy in the white and red is going to win, right?". lol.

I don't think he will be able to take shots from men his size and bigger.

Haye leaves you wanting to see more everytime he fights. The moribund heavyweight division has been killing boxing lately and Haye is the new saviour. He has everything going for him and I hope he fights some of his big fights in Vegas as well and not just over in England. Yeah, I know he's your guy (to the British) but he has american fans too. I cannot wait for his next fight. Toney would be a GREAT litmus test right now.

Haye has it all , he is a natural heavyweight that boiled down to cruiser. Only the huge heavys like Wlad pose a threat , in my opinion Haye will be champ as soon as he gets the fight , its only a matter of time. I hope he stays active and fights some B level competition though , staying out of the ring is'nt a good thing. Cant wait for it to happen.

    How good is Haye?

Good enough to survive some stormy moments aginst Mormeck, good enough to beat an average Polish journeyman at heavy weight, good enough to knock Macca out,but good enough to compete with any of the better heavies? I have my doubts.

I havent seen Haye vs Thompson.According to some posters here Haye just ran out of gas against Thompson like Wlad did against Puritty.
Anyway! Mormeck made the water hot for Haye. There are dozens of fighters at heavy who would beat Mormeck black and blue.Haye will soon enter uncharted territory.Lets wait and seen how he fares there!
Up to now he hasnt proved anything at heavy weight-neither at the pros nor at the amateurs.

Haye will absolutely clean up at Heavyweight, all things being equal. By that I mean if he doesn't leave his chin out.

If he stays alert, moves around the ring, doesn't get complacent, he will knock out every single heavyweight.

This guy is a supreme athlete, and allied to his talent, that gives him a sizeable edge over every heavy bar Klitschko.

I am assuming an in-shape Toney will still be 185-90 lbs. Be realistic! What I am saying is that Toney can box, in any kind of shape.
Hay can show his wares and if he zaps Toney out I would consider him bonified a HW champ with out an asterik. Other HW's have generally failed to put Toney's lights out. If Haye is as good as all seem to say, that's my test.

Toney will never again even make 210.
