We don’t know because he hasn’t had real step up fights yet. He LOOKS like he may be as good as he is hyped to be, but he needs some real fights to prove it. what we do know for a fact is that he’s twitchy with good reflexes, has really fast hands, and hits real hard. How is his chin? How does he react when a fight isn’t going his way? How does he react when hurt? How is his stamina? What happens when he gets in there with a slickster who can outbox him? There’s a lot we don’t know.
He looks good so far, and has the potential to get to the top based on what everyone is saying and how he has performed in his fights. Its too early to say how good he is relative to the top guys in the division. For some perspective they all looked just as good as Itauma in their first dozen fights, most guys do when its against cans. But yeah if he is brought along right and continues down the correct path he could easily be a future champ. Like the other Barrf said there are still a few questions that need answering before people can tell.
Personally we need to be very careful with these prospects, a lot of fanboys on here like to glaze those gassed up by the media as a potential champion when one hasn't proven anything. And we hear from complete imbeciles that Itauma would beat Usyk??!! That is how one becomes a hype job. I'm not even confident Itauma beats Whyte... Whyte is a seasoned vet with bags of experience and good victories in his name, whereas Itauma's best win is against literal cadavers who were journeymen at best!
