What are your thoughts in general on Eastman, and in particular the fights against Joppy and Abraham?

    always a fan of Eastman

but he never had that edge to make him the best

Joppy fight showed how lazy he was - a big fight and he spend it show boating when he needed to be winning the rounds

Hopkins fight showed how good he was - because Hopkins beat him - but ran from Eastman all night - and we all know how good Hopkins is and Eastman was not disgraced

I like Eastman but feel he let himself down in his biggest fights. He should and could have beaten Joppy.

To be fair I thought he was robbed against Joppy, even tho he gave away some silly rounds early in the fight he clearly was the better man that night. Very unlucky.

Eastman in his prime was a world-class fighter and second only to Hopkins in that division, a well underrated fighter. A cut above all the british middleweight's at the time.

I remember him fighting Scott Dann, who wasn't bad british level fighter, and he gave away the early rounds there too. He was being lazy, not throwing enough punches, then BANG out of nowhere in round 3 he ****ing pole-axes him and ends it in a single punch. Brutal KO.

Hopkins ran all night against Eastman, and he knew why. Eastman was one of the few guys in the division who could've caused him trouble, so he played it safe. He was very respectful in the post fight interview too I remember, giving Eastman a B+! hahah

Good fighter. Just lacked the mental focus.

Another reason why Hopkins was so cautious was because it was his 20th title defence, he and wanted to make sure that he won it. So he fought a very risk-free fight.

Wasn't a b-? either way high praise from man who rarely rated opponents above c-

Eastman had world class talent but had a tendency to be lazy. It would suprise me if he's battle some some mental problems. Not on a huge scale but maybe enough to take an edge of him.

    Apparently he could really punch.

But was waaay to lackadaisical in his approach to training.

Eastman was a good fighter that should have won a world title. He had more than a few screws loose, that was his problem.

I think Eastman was very good - seems odd he can take Joppy, Hopkins and Abraham the distance but is stopped by Miranda :patsch

With a bit of proper guidance he could have really achieved something special.

He was a tough and average talented fighter but his game was total and utter shite. I support him but he was awful to watch. If he trained hard and tried to improve then he could have beaten em all. He could have made the X fight close too.

Eastman just never nurtured his ability.
