At the time I had Hughie winning that fight, too. It was admittedly Selby-esque which isn’t a great look for a heavyweight fight. In retrospect I can see why the judges gave it to Parker, although it wasn’t effective aggression he was certainly demonstrating ring generalship. Hughie never really put it on him. What he did show against Parker and Pulev (both top 10 fighters) that he has the defensive capabilities and the chin to hold his own. He lacks in his offence though but he’s got time to fix that. Has @destruction loves to say, he’s only 24
With Hughie I got the feeling that after banging out sexton he thought he could do the same to everyone. He spent the majority of the pulev fight doing that same move luring his opponent into the corner and then throwing a big shot via email that we could all see coming a mile off. After the cut he should’ve just gone for it and thrown everything at pulev, no shame in that. He really needs to work on being more offensive, if a fighter is already up on the cards then they are not going be stupid and get countered especially on home turf
Time to hang up the skirt or stick to his level. Le Skirt looks a British level fighter at best and he should focus on regaining then defending that belt. He will be no better now.
It's a tough one because there's every chance he loses to Dubois or Joyce. I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see anything of him for a while it's been very quiet from his camp.
