Okay clearly Hunter needed a better opponent and this was a step down for Hunter from the onset... but that performance was disgusting by Maldonado.

He boxed as if was under anasthesia, had bird flu, and got divorced on the same night.

He must desperately have needed that paycheck to have been in there...

but was this a case of Maldonado being exceptionally bad rather than Hunter being exceptionally stronger than Maldonados previous opponents like Rivas???

Rivas' best win at HW Jennings, probably gets KO'd viciously by Hunter's in Bakole.

Sure Maldonado was going to lose, but to lose like that, means Hunter is really damn good.:deal:

Hunter is just>>>>>Rivas. All day, everyday.

I now have a perfect understanding of how Rivas signed to fight Jennings with Maldonado signed a few weeks before it.

    Hunter 215½ - Maldonado 240

    Rivas 241¼ - Maldonado 237

Hunter absolutely destroyed Maldonado with contemptuous ease in 2 rounds

Rivas couldn't budge Maldonado all night

    CW Level>>>HW Level

    Hunter>>>Rivas

Holy **** fair play... I am getting educated here.lol hunter looks huge in that fight.

Hunter looks like a tough contender for some of the top 15.

Yes. He really really is. I knew Hunter was the real deal but I was surprised by how effortlessly he dispatched Maldonado. Outside of Usyk and perhaps Hrgović, he’s probably the guy with the highest chance of beating one of the big 3 in the next year or two.

Nothing bad about Hunter, he did what he was supposed to do against a shot to pieces opponent that only beat 2 fighters with a winning record of his 26 wins, but we didn’t see anything from Hunter that we didn’t already know.
