    1) Craig McEwan will never hold one of the major alphabet belts - I want to laugh at everybody who laughed at me for suggesting that Angulo would bludgeon McEwan when that fight was mooted a few months back. And....

    2) Khan's punch resistance will improve a lot for moving up in weight.

McEwan might hold the WBO one day.

    Angulo is worse than McEwan.

Khan will always be china chinned.

    Thanks :good

Um, no. He's a far, far superior fighter. McEwan looks solid and technically sound, but nothing more. He's not especially skilful, or fast, or even clever in terms of ring generalship. He has a decent defense and what looks to be a decent chin. But he's nothing special and won't go anywhere. In fact, he won't even get to where Angulo is now.

As for Khan, there is no possible way that his chin will be as bad as it is now when he goes up to 140. My guess is that he suffers from early career DLH/Pac syndrome.

can i say that i was speaking to McEwans father in law he sometimes posts on here and he said the arena was very humid and hot. Also people in the Wildcard are really starting to take note of him and he was trained by his father in law for this fight

i rekon McEwan can be a decent champ

    havent saw Angulo though

Firstly, thanks everyone for all the posts & PM's being nice & asking me to stay around here after I lost my bet, & special thanks to the Irish guy I had the bet with, who said he didnt want me to go through with it & cancelled it:good

So anyway, onto the main point, that of a certain Craig McEwan!!!
He has given scottish boxing the shot in the arm that it needed by putting on a fine performance against the capable Vera who certainly didnt come to lie down. I was a bit worried about how Craig would perform in the later rounds, as he had never fought past 8 in his career so far, but Craig came through with flying colours:cool:
Craig wasnt intimidated by topping the bill on a nationally televised event on ESPN2, fighting in Veras hometown in searing tempratures. & as Teddy Atlas said, fighting in a small ring that was suited a brawler in Vera.
He showed once again how skilled a boxer he is, but I admired the way he fought it out with Vera at times, and getting the better of the exchanges too.
I have been saying since 1996 that I would love for at least one scottish fighter with ability to learn his trade in a top class gym in the states, & see how far they can go.
Craig has given me that & I appreciate it very much:deal

    Khan's chin ain't gonna improve.

It's a **** chin. Any improvement will be wiped out when he faces proper 140lbs punchers.

Agree. I don't know were this McEwan hype comes from; I have seen him a few times now and he doesn't look anything special.

And Khan's chin will not get better as he moves up; this notion is seriously flawed. Bigger guys = Bigger power. Khan, while big at LW, never looked gaunt at a weigh-in, never looked drained, always looked muscled up, never had one pundit saying "My god, he looks dead at the weight"; he just has a ****ing terrible chin. Stop with this **** already; not long ago he was getting rocked by shot SFW's for ****s sake.

Unless the laws of boxing are overturned, Kahns chin won't hold up at 140 any better than it did at 135.

err... what McEwan 'hype' are you going on about? As far as I know, Craig McEwan gets next to no coverage in the 'british' media, even britishboxing.net doesnt even have Craig as fighter of the week!!!

& as for him not looking 'special' well you have to remember that Craig is still in the early stages of his pro career, hes still learning as he even admits himself. Even so, hes still got a good name on his record now, the only way is up.
The only hype Craig Mcewan has gotten recently on these shores is an appearance on Bunceys boxing hour, after the lads got together here to ask Buncey to help us all out, & credit to the big man, he delivered.
