If your cash cow is good enough he can climb the division. If he is not there is someone else who can be marketed. The UFC model is excellent and it forces the best to fight the best. I think you have your facts wrong. Uncle Al does not manage Terence "Bud" Crawford rather Bob Arum did. Crawford is clearly difficult to negotiate with as shown by the negotiations for a fight with Spence. I love Al Haymon and Al Haymon is great for boxing.

I thought they had agreed terms, with Bud receiving the smaller end of the purse and with no guaranteed purse only a percentage of the total revenue, but the sticking point was transparency to show the actual costs and revenue. Doesn't sound like Bud was pricing himself out more that he wanted guarantees he was going to get what was agreed.
Haymon does not cheat fighters he ensures they get most of the money. Bud was being difficult and will now earn a fraction of the career high payday he was guaranteed against EJ. He will then claim he want Jermell Charlo then we get the same merry dance again.
