    Its been like what??? 3 years since he last fought so yeah, I expect ESB nostalgia to overrate him up the ass. Im already seeing it with Hatton and it will only be a matter of time before prime Emmanuel Augustus beats Khan.


    Mr Calzaghe what do you think of ESB?

    I enjoyed watching him throughout his career. He retired at the right time though.

    If he hung around another 12 months there would of been some *******s for Calzaghe right now , fights that probably would have seen him pushed to his absolute limit

    Back on topic , i miss him too !!! :|

    He was on loose women, they made him feel very uncomfortable asking about whether he gets jealous when he looks at other mens bodies the way women do. :lol:

    Yep, miss Calzaghe too. He was really brash for a Brit with a real weird style.

    Been three years already and yet the guys he beat in the twilight of his career are still world level contenders at this point. So he's 40 now I guess? RJJ should just follow his and Lennox's lead and retire.

    Calzaghe was special, it was a treat watching his fights. I certainly do miss him, and the haters still hate him. I wish he would have gave us a Dawson fight, granted Dawson had no name, following and wasn't very proven, but it would have been great to see him trash another American hopeful...

    Joe was a great,his smashing up of 'The new Tyson' Lacy was a lesson in superiority.
    The yanks have hated him with a vengeance since.

    How high are your standards?!

    The end of his career was fun. Starting with the Lacy fight up until his last bout with Jones, that was a really good time, I think. The Kessler and Hopkins bouts in particular had a great amount of discussion on here and both captured the publics attention. He was good for boxing at the end of his career.

    The biggest shame, is that in his absolute prime, he didn't fight anyone of genuine world class ability.

    Yup. And for this reason, he isn't missed by me.

    Why mourn over a Calzaghe when we have a Carl Froch?
