Does anyone know how long it takes the ibf to order a mandatory im hoping to see derevychenko and ggg get in the ring march of 2018 ? I know charlo is a mandatory as well. I just like derevychenko vs ggg better so how long does ibf take to order a mandatory defense?
I am not certain but I believe K2 must have been given an exemption to make the Canelo fight or it already would have been ordered. GGG hasn't fought his IBF mandatory since Dom Wade and by their rules he is meant to defend it every year I believe. He will have to fight Derevyanchenko, pay step aside or vacate if he doesn't fight Canelo. I am just guessing though tbh, I haven't read anything on the situation.
That sucks; two of my favorite fighters. At least the judges and ref will officiate it straight. no reason to screw over either guy. If anything GGG will get the close rounds in this one.
Yes, I predicted it a long time ago. Oscar and El Pollo lied to Golovkin, tricked him into waiting for the rematch whilte they are planing on fighting the winner of Saunders/Lemieux! Golovkin should have fought Saunders and won the WBO title, then he could have forced El Pollo back into the ring! Oscar is a crook in fishnets!
You're right, they allow unification fights to proritise over mandatory fights too. They'll want either GGG or Canelo as their champion so I'm not shocked at an exception. So if that fight doesn't happen and he doesn't challenge for the WBO belt then he should in theory be fighting Sergey D
