Or even if it was a different ref that night.
Smoger loves to let the fighting continue, but it could of been so much different if it was someone else.

Stop hating on Pavlik. If Kessler beat Calzaghe people would say he is a bum.

He won, deal with it. Your just mad because Joe doesnt want Pavlik and made stuff up just to ignore him.

Honestly as soon as Pavlik got up I knew he wouldnt be stopped. I just dont think he was that hurt.

Taylor landed some seriously hard rights in that fight, a couple of times I thought Pavlik might have been wobbled again. But he recovered very quickly everytime.

he did very well to get back in it and finish it, very well.
surprised at how easy to hit pavlik seems though. i don't see him as a legend in the making at all.

I mean i understand where ur coming from but i see more potential for pavlik being a legend in the game of boxing of all time then calzaghe based on age and style. Pavlik has heart and that has enabled him to do things many thought he couldnt. Pavlik has a good chin. thats already been proven. unlike calzaghe pavlik wont get knocked down by b-hop

    Strange thread.

The answer is that if Pavlik had been knocked out in the 2nd round of his 1st world title challenge and therefore would not have got a rematch with Taylor as his performance would not have justified it, then no of course he could not be considered the saviour of American boxing (is he anyway?).

However, this didn't happen, so who gives a ****?

If Chris Eubank hadn't been travelling round Africa and Asia fighting exhibition matches in the year or two prior to the Calzaghe fight and so was active, and if he was in his mid-20s, and had been able to unanimously decision Calzaghe, would Calzaghe still be talked about on this forum as the Greatest Fighter Of The Last 25 Years? Probably not. But this didn't happen, so again I ask, who gives a ****????
