Have to start by saying how grateful I am to IFL, the insight these guys supply, the hours they put in, the breadth of fighter they interview and the speed with which it's all made available, free of charge, is absolutely superb.

Now for the negative, one I consider pretty huge. James Helder should take a back seat and play a role in production. As soon as I hear James's voice I know it's going to be pretty painful.
James lacks the ability to relax with the interviewee, asks some pretty embarrassing questions, (''Do you think you really can win this?'') and sometimes develops a nervous stammer.

Kugan Cassius obviously can't work every show, but IFL have several capable people I've seen do some great work. They should get a bigger role. I understand James Helder is 50% owner of the best boxing channel on YouTube, but he really shouldn't be asking any more questions.

Agree with all that. IFL do a fantastic job. But I don't agree with your comments about Helder. He does an equally as good job. Seriously cant say I've noticed any suspect questions from James. Will look out for it next time just to see.

But yeah. Overall IFL are best in the business.

I agree, Helder is an awful interviewer. He is far too much of a suck up. Starts every single interview with "I'm fortunate enough to be joined by..." and asks very basic questions that are already catered for by mainstream interviews.

IFL is a pretty big brand now, I'm sure they can afford to send the two guys on a media course or something?

Kugan's interviews tend to be better but that's because he's developed close friendships with the guys he interviews regularly.

Yeah I mean Kugan literally spends half his life with Eddie Hearn and his camp so will obviously feel at more ease with them.

Yeah, Helder is a sound guy and all but tends to ask questions that the fighter/ promoter wants to be asked, whereas Kuggan is more pressing with the questions we want to know.

IFL is great. Hate trying to catch up though, they do that many good interviews you end up watching for hours.

The problem with IFL and the same can be said for some other similar outfits is that they need to have good relationships with promoters/fighters to guarantee having access in the future. This is fine as it leads to relaxed interviewee and interviewer and a more informal conversation. Where IFL fall short is asking the more awkward questions, and really pushing the interviewee on uncomfortable issues, which need talking about. Prime example was last week when kugan asked Eddie about signing ortiz and him previously failing a drugs test. Eddie mumbled something and completely swerved the question, and rather than pressing eddie further kugan just moved on.

I also feel that Kugan is easily manipulated by hearn, and that sometimes hearn simply uses ifl as a mechanism to convince fans to his way of thinking, which is easy to do because kugan rarely questions it.

Finally kugans brownosing of hearn and for some reason barney francis who he always mentions is quite embarrassing.

Yes they do cover alot of events, but lets get it right most boxing fans would do what they do for free so i dont buy into this bollocks that their real grafters.

However, overall i do enjoy the channel, but just a few areas i think they could improve on.

Kugan has gotten too big for his boots, he thinks it's all about him more than the fighter. James is a massive suck-up for sure though (particularly to the Fury's), he tells people what they want to hear but I guess you have to *****-foot around boxers as they can quite easily make things difficult for you. Helder's interviews tend to be very boring, Kugan has better banter, better overall boxing knowledge and gets fighters to feel at ease and to open up more.

Their content is unrivalled though, they have led the way and pride themselves on allowing the boxer to dictate the interview and talk about anything he wants. It does help that they are very close to the fighters. Kugan is clearly very good mates with Hearn & Billy Joe Saunders and he has closer relationships with the fighters than Helder does. Kugan will know a lot more about fights than he is allowed to say, I reckon Hearn tells him all sorts when the camera is off.

Hearn uses IFL as he likes the exposure it brings to his fighters, IFL like Hearn as he gives them viewing figures. It's win-win for both and they both know they are using each other for their own means. I love the hour-long ones they do with Hearn.

I'm grateful to IFL TV, but they don't ask the pressing questions we really want to know - and I understand the reasons why.

Not to insult James Helder personally, as he seems like a decent guy; however, his interviews are awful. He always repeats the same questions, i.e. "how does it feel to be fighting back in INSERT CITY NAME HERE?" or "what does it feel like to be part of such a great card" - it's just unwatchable.

If you ask awkward questions constantly then people will stop talking to you- it's why you rarely see a sportsman being asked tricky questions after a match.

IFL do a cracking job I feel especially with the promoters who are relatively candid in interviews with them.

You forgot his constant use of "sort of" randomly chucked into the middle of every question.

    Really good channel.

Could do with some HD content, though.
