Nice footage as always GA. Williams is one of the greatest fighters who have ever lived. Head to head he's right there with Duran and Whitaker, right up there. Great lightweight.
Of the highest level of lightweights, you could say the best of his era, sure he had losses in that era, but for me he was clearly the best of a great era of 135 pounders. A man who found the range with his jab and used rapid bunches of powerful shots that saw guys off. A great finisher.
Williams was a fantastically skilled counterpuncher and combination puncher, very tough, and could bang with both hands. Essentially, you could say he was like a lighter-weight version of Joe Louis. He was right up there with the best lightweights that ever lived, and had one of the best resumes of any LW champ ever.

I met and talked to Ike Williams several times, in fact a couple of years ago we put up a monument of him in Trenton. The things that were said about him by the others are all true PLUS he was a wonderful man outside the ring as well.
Williams was one of the greatest lightweight top five for most has a great resume as well. He was quick, powerful, great body attack, quality jab and was an excellent finisher.
