Saad, Chacon and SRL come to mind quickly. The difference between them is that SRL had extra skill and class and could find ways other than just outlasting the opponent. Chacon and Saad simply ground you down thru incredible will, heart and desire.

Larry Holmes too, jeez. Nobody wanted it more than Holmes, especially when pressed hard. He narrowly beat Witherspoon with pure heart and desire. With the skills fading he beat numerous fighters this way.

ricky hatton showed tremendous will and bravery especially in the mayweather fight, knowing he was well behind so literally going for broke, resulting in a face full of ringpost.

Danny "Little Red" Lopez deserve a mention, you could knock him down, but you could never keep him down and he would almost always without fail come back from the brink to knock you back into kindergarten with that atomic right hand of his.

Joe Frazier fighting Foreman in Jamaica was an incredible display of determination, when you consider how many recent fighter's these days have stopped fighting when they could have continued. Also Carmen Basilio was the epitome of indomitable will.

You've got me there, HJ. I suppose my recollection of him first coming to NY in '69, and his swath through the lightweights is the most vivid to me.

Can't defend what Roberto did with Leonard the second time, but having spent alotta time around him in training, my personal take is: He was just so ****in' arrogant, he refused to be embarrassed and said **** it, and never considered the consequences.
