    Hi all
Couple of things. Iv been going the boxing gym for about a month now absolutly loving it wish i could spend everyday in there. When im not in the gym im training at home. Session went so good last night the guy i was practicing with asked me am i sure iv never boxed before and did i want to spar. I was made up that anyone thinks im romotely half decent!

Anywho basically iv picked up a couple injuries i want to ask about. The main one iv had for about 3 weeks is my lower left rib. It hurts alot of the time feels very uncomfortable and its not gone away. I work in a doctors surgery so i asked one of the docs and they said it just is probably cartlidge damage from where i got hit. Anyone else had this how long does it take to heal.

Next one my wrists hurt nearly every time i go. Being the beginner i am sometimes i hit awkwardly ect and although i wrap my hands carefully and good as far as i know i still feel like iv sprained them sometimes and its annoying because its making my punches weaker and not as effective. Any advice for this??

Iv got a muscle pull too but i know that is just rest, annoying this is its on the bottom of the arch of my foot and iv had it before. Just hope its not going to put me out of action!!

Anyway its mainly my wrists that i want advice on but basically throw any advice my way, im hungry for knowledge!! Cheers guys

I may be able to offer some insight into the problem with your wrist. As you said you are a beginner you may be making this mistake because your wrists are not turned in properly. all the best:good

The wrist pains are the reason you should not try to hit hard on the heavy bag until you mastered the technique. We've all gotten that advice, but I bet only the girls actually listened. Less power, more speed and technique for now.

Ok noted! I will try more for technique. Not making excuses but its actually not when i hit the heavy bag i have the problem which seems strange. Its more when we are partnered up and we are practicing body shots and i hit an elbow or something. Or even sometimes when i hit the pads awkwardly (especially uppercuts) Anyway i will try harder to focus on the technique more.
