Ive always felt the same way.

Benn did damage to him...permanant damage....there is no arguing that. But to get the type of injuries and long term effects that Gerald endured, that couldnt have been all due to that one fight.

Still a very, very sad end to a very, very talented fighter.

Thanks for this....I always thought there was something wrong with McClellan even before the Benn fight. I know I'm not alone...

    Something was not right

I hope Nigel reads this. I know he feels horrible about what happened.

There has been reports for awhile that G-Man was already suffering from head problems after the first Jackson fight. I guess we won't know exactly to what extent his current condition came from the Benn fight and how much came from other fights (and his excessive drying out) going in.

Head injuries are very cumulative especially since the brain does not repair itself well, if at all.

Scientific studies of boxer's brains show the same neurofibrillary tangles that are present in the brains of persons with Alzheimer's.

    Punches add up.

I also read an article where they interviewed a friend of his. They were both at a mall, and the G-Man made sport of running down flamingos with his car in the parking lot.

But at the same time, I am sorry he is in his condition.

  11. Indeed Karma is a *****:deal not only did he kill dogs but ran over the FlamingoS :-( he was a sadistic ****, and i know a lot of folks feel bad for him- BUT I SURE AS HELL DON'T..

There's a lesson in life for us all. What goes around comes around. I have no sympathy whatsoever for the McClellan scumbag. He got what he deserved

All McClellan threads end up in the same place. I'm staying away from this one, but to the original point, I think it's fairly obvious he brought a condition into the ring that night.

It doesn't do anything to detract from Benn's courageous performance, but it does illuminate the circumstances that led to tragedy.
