All the irish papers are lazy when it comes to boxing seems they like to recycle press releases alot of the time!

Can anyone tell me what's behind Michael Sweeney being kayoed in Mexico? I just discovered that he lost a fight there two months ago. What was Sweeney doing in Mexico? I'm surprised he would fight there, given the unpredictable circumstances.

I met Sweeney two years when he fought in my city in the USA. Seemed to be a likeable enough guy. I'm sorry he lost.

Definately I will have to get a picture of the two together for my wall! It will go up beside my painting of Bernard Dunne!

I'm not sure I originally heard he got his jaw broken but that was just rumours. He was dominating his opponent for most of the fight perhaps it was a soft stoppage? No one was there except for sweeney

Congratulations on a fine win. I take it you will next be out on the undercard of McCloskey's European title defence in The Kings Hall?

I cant see even 0.01% at that shite - and to be honest if anyone did then they would want to be preped for a rabbit punch. Carl was proud to fight for win honours for Ireland which is more than the vast majority in the crowd ever did. Its 2010 and if people cant repsect people from other traditions then they need a bit of education. Anyway, its not even worth talkin about.

Well done last night Carilto, I had the feelin he was going to be a runner. Wonder if Barry can get a copy of the tape.

I doesnt matter to me if they use the quotes - if it helps a lazy print journo get an article together which gives Carlito more exposure then thats what the goal of the article in the first place but they could say - Frampton told B0xingScene "X, Y and Z".

How hard can that be? Who is the guy that does the articles in the Star anyway?
