Hemit, do honestly believe if Duddy sorts out his defence, he can compete with Pavlik?

 

why not?he has been knocked down by lesser punchers than duddy and does struggle to make weight (apparantly) and if a fighter is able to penetrate pavlik's big 1-2s and punish him on the inside anything is possible,duddy would get outworked on the outside against pavlik but we must believe in duddy.

 

I want to believe in Duddy, it just his performances since Campas, have lacked something, even allowing for the poor defence.

While my grandmother was a Burns, I think it was of the English variety. My wife is Irish on her father's side. Probably explains the red hair. My best friends growing up were Finnertys. So, I've been 'under the influence' my my whole life. But, American's generally have a little of everthing in them some where.

 

I really avoid making predictions. I prefer to let the fighters decide fights. Kelly is the home town boy which makes it tougher. But, I think Duddy needs another year, at least, against good competition to be ready for Pavlik. Go back in Pavlik's record 9 fights to compare him to where Duddy is now. 6 or 7 of those fights were steps up. The incline gets steeper closer to the top.

However, if Pavlik moves up in the meantime, then it is wide open and I like Duddy's chances better than most.

 

That is as good an analysis as any, yes I consider Duddy with another year aginst top comp is nessecary before looking at Pavlik. Duddy is such good material, but he doesn't need rushing. His fights are always exciting, so he'll shine for Ireland as long as they progess him cautiously. :good

 

Watched that before Ardy, I'm interested to see how McCloskey goes tomorrow. Bloody southpaws are a differant ball game. You get a good one or a bad one, there are no in betweens.
