In the short time I have been watching Duddy, I havn't seen him ko anyone. I suspect then they might steer clear of him if he wants Pavlik.

yep,i agree with you shamrock,early in his career he had a wand of a left hook that could throw the toughest of journeymen to the floor,but since he's stepped up he's been fighting people with greater power meaning he can be hurt therefore he can't just walk through punches and begin to throw out combinations,instead he will have to box his way inside a boxers guard and begin to throw these.i'm very interested in seeing his strategy in his next fight (depending on his opponent).
Hello Shamrock,Paul may well be fragile, but there is no evidence of this[unless you consider a flash knock down in Cork last year as evidence, and even Duddy was put down early in his career]as yet.The thing is, he very rarely gets hit.In all matters like this, time will reveal all.
Sad but true. Avoiding risk is a terrible philosophy in boxing though. Arum's main interest in Duddy was box office. (And perhaps make the fight BEFORE Duddy is ready instead of wait?) Arum originally wanted the fight around St. Patricks day. As a fan I like the Duddy/Abraham matchup for two reasons. 1. If Duddy outboxes Abraham (and he should) it means he learned from his mistakes in his last outing and has just taken a step up AND wins a major belt. 2 That makes the fight with Pavlik bigger. However (oh how I hate that word), it looks like Abraham will fight either Miranda or Taylor in his next fight and that would take place at 168. That allows Abraham to gauge how he does against one of Pavliks last two opponents without risking his belt. I suspect he will lose and go on fighting very safe fights and avoid Pavlik. I'd much rather see Duddy beat him for the belt.
one i will say..once AA comes out of germany...and fights..a good opponent....he will lose...miranda and eastman were both robbed against him...i think he is lucky to hold a version of the title

I was watching the fight with my son Kieran who won the NZ Lightweight title 3 years ago. McCloskeys style and the plodding look of the Mexican made for somewhat of a boring fight Ardy. McCloskeys evasion of contact is unique, and makes you wait for the other guy to land something meaningful and see how he handles it :yep. Was He koed with the flash knockdown Ardy or just down and up?
ShamrocK, Paul got put down, and that is the only recollection of him ever being knocked down, amateur or pro.He got up and won on points.McCloskey technique, may look uniqu,but it's not, as an Irish coach over in Sheffield England,trains all his boxers in that way. Herol Graham,Prince Hamed,Johnny Nelson and many others fight or fought like that.:goodI suppose the fight was a bit repetitive, a bit like the Klitscho/Ibragimov contest.
Sweeney has won 3 and 1 draw[last time out in Boston].He fights in 2 weeks time on the Dunne undercard in Castlebar.I believe Sean Mannion trains him.
Ardy, I can remember an amateur fighter over here who fought like that, he won a lot of fights. Never did like the style but winniing has got to account for something, same as 'Hit Without Being Hit'.
