It was strange to see Ricky Hatton in Macklin's dressing room before the Campas fight (shown in small piece with Jimmy McGee before Paul McCloskey fight the other night). He may well have only been there to wish him well. I was surprised because Macklin is making a break from the Billy Graham regime. Having Hatton in the dressing room before the fight could have the effect of undermining Buddy McGirt. Just a thought.

Hello all. Just joining this forum for the first and certainly not the last time.
If any of you didnt already know I have recently relaunched irish-boxing.com with the help of Mark Doyle and Bobby Lavery.
The April edition is now online if any of you want a look. We will be updating the features and audio interviews every month and news stories when they come in.
I would be very grateful for your feedback on the site.
We are also launching a supporters club. There are more details on that on the site.
If any of you have any ideas on features you would like to see feel free to get in touch.
    Cheers, Cormac

Somebody mentioned the site yesterday so I checked it out. Many of the links on the front page didn't work although I was able to get to them through the news section. I've just had a look now and it's the same situation for the Vera / Lee rematch link on the front page. Just a thought.

Otherwise it seems good, it would be great to have a site that will help us keep in touch with the amateur and pro scene in Ireland along with irish boxers abroad. Add to that a mix of current world news, interviews and some pieces on historic Irish boxers and you could have a winner.

    Yeah, the very same Cormac.
We're still getting used to the system for putting stuff up so still a few teething problems.
Bobby is going to be in charge of the amateur side of things, which we will be looking to build upon. It is something that doesnt get enough coverage and we definitely have plenty of good amateurs at the minute.
Obviously the dream is for the site to become a full time thing (Weekly features rather than monthly and expanding to British, European, and World news) but I guess we just have to take it slowly and build things up.

Good stuff. we are looking to organise some get togethers in Belfast and Dublin. maybe get a couple of the boxers to go to each, to build up more of a community for boxing fans. At the end of the day you can walk in to any pub and watch football, but there arent so many options for boxing fans.
I think I'll be in here quite regularly!

That's good, I've read a few of your articles on setanta. Best of luck with it, seems like you've got the right idea.
