You've got atleast a 4 inch height advantage I reckon you could take him out in the early rounds if you use your jab to set up the right hand :hey
Phew! I thought you were going for the throat there and I was going to have to dust the 'Sligo Slammer' off after all these years! Nah, going to Limerick instead. I only seen Vassell against Surcica on the Macklin-Asikienenn undercard and Beech on the Khan-Prescott undercard - he failed to really impress me on both. Maybe I was a knockout too much. He comes in in crackin shape.
Hope wee Jamie gets the Irish Title shot. I know he has been training hard and holding his own when sparring Malik Bouziane. Bouziane drew last week fighting for the IBF title. Couldnt see Wilton giving him too much trouble although he has improved in his last few outings. Only found this site, some interesting posts !!
I interviewed Primetime TV head honcho earlier today and had word with Andy Kerr too... http://news.boxrec.com/news/2010/ex...tv-froch-kessler-show-and-future-developments
I don't see too much of a problem with Conlan fighting for the Irish title. He's completed an eight-rounder which is stipulated by the BUI and despite having only had two fights consider these points: He's clearly competent in the ring and the board will have noted this. He had a good amateur background so is not a complete novice. The Irish scene isn't blessed with a huge amount of fighters at any weight, let alone the depths of flyweight, so inevitably fighters will be pushed quicker into title shots. The same is true in Britain as Ashley Sexton is going in for the British belt after 6 or 7 fights. Farrell has only had four fights, Wilton about nine (I think) so he's not going to be fighting vastly more experienced opponents either :good Anyway Leonard are you going to be gracing us with your presence at any of these upcoming events? It must be about time you were unleashed on a big show again.
Paddy, they were special occasions. The noise was so loud, it was deafening at time. My jabbing days are well and truly over but thanks for the endorsement anyhow. Cheers mate, I would like to see Haughian fight the winner of tonight. Welcome to the thread Thanks Gasman, another excellent article.
I thought u were sticking with ESB :deal Interesting piece though I'm in work so I just skimmed it I'll be giving it a propper read once things quiet down.
I said that all Irish stuff will go to ESB:deal I don't do much non-Irish stuff, but when I do I will continue to send it to boxrec. :good
I was in the hotel drinking Coke with Andy (who had a diet coke) and Roger and you were nowhere to be found Dave! You were also nowhere to be found on the friday night so i had to take young J'leon and Domonique out on the ****! I'm doing great all the same I hope to be in LA this summer with the way the euro is performing you will get more dollars for the 5 euro the longer you wait!
well just a suggestion you should send Dave (aka CHEF) a pm he's Wlads camp manager and runs a VERY tight ship! he also used to pic out dvd's suitable for Andy to watch in camp
I remembered to get the Newsletter today - quality read. Interviews with O'Hara (he is fighting Sykes in Huddersfield), Lindsay, mccloskey - plus the Sinky column and then there is a weekly column called 'the six million dollar fighter' - which is basically a standard Q&A on a boxers favourite fights, attributes of different fighters etc - Lindsay did this week. Very good read.
Paddy - your contacts are substantial:good :good Are going to Andy's fight in Limerick and have you any plans to come up to the bills in the North?
Yes I definately have plans to see McCloskey I will be there purely as a fan though so I can conduct myself accordingly with pints in each hand!
