Fra, they have played ireland many times. They are one of the hardest working bands in terms of touring.

thanks ardy...yeah, be interested in that..

love chatting about boxing ardy...except on the comments here {on the articles on the front page} and other forums...things get heated very quickly...
reading articles about floyd mayweather on the font page..someone adds a comment that he's ducking cotto..someone says 'your stupid' and the reply saying they're goona fook his mother or something... :)
so..i find myself holding back on my views when posting comments there sometimes...

anyway...back on topic...ever heard of a real old time ballina near sligo boxer called dick hearns...used to be a sparring partner of jack dempsy {now..thats going back !!}...went on to be manager of sligo rovers football team?...cant find much about him on the net...but i know his son, who is now in his 60's, and the photos and memoriblia is amazing that he has....his dad sitting round a table in new york for a meal..with dempsey sat beside him..and other famous faces from boxing back then...except i forget now who they were :)

    ok...doug out..

I cant say I've heard of Dick Hearns, but he sounds like a bit of of a character. I'm actually going to Ballina for a holiday during July,so you have just gave me a topic of conversation when I hit the bar. There is a lot of good Irish boxing to look forward to in the forcoming weeks with Dunne in Castlebar, the Hyland promotion the following week, and of course our amateurs trying to qualify for the Olympics. So keep on posting.:hi:

little left of topic..but when i seen dunne getting sparked by martinez..i really thought that he {martinez} was a huge huge talent...very surprised that he got beat in that last fight..

They just got done playing ireland and great Britian. On every album they cover a couple traditional songs with their punk twist. last album they have Flanagan's Ball featuring Spider Stacy of the Pogues and yes the legendary Ronnie Drew of the Dubliners.

so mightnt be any harm to send it through again.
Bobby's son is a pretty tidy boxer. Was Irish champion last year but lost this year in the semis to John Joe Nevins younger brother!
I'll be a bit quiet on here for the next couple of weeks as going on my holiday's but hopefully will have more about a club night when I get back!
