haha, great day for irish boxing. absolutly amazing news about the amateurs and having five boxers at the olympics really shows what good putting in a competent infrastructure can yield.it will give us plenty to cheer about come august and hopefully for years to come. rogan 25k richer, fair play to the big man,he was modest about his chances and seemed quietly confident, lets just hope some justice can be done and he can get a shot at the british title now.

Well done Martin Rogan, on a truely gutsy display. Eamonn Magee's advice before the last round was pure classic."You lost the last round and need to work for all of the next three minutes, and he called you an Irish bast#rd".Rogan, on hearing that advice goes out and decks Dolan.Great stuff. Now come on Bernard, that's make it a triple triumph.:bbb
YEA " BIG ROGIE" :happy I've got a soft spot for "sluggers" Would love to see him fight on one of those Brian Peters' cards, maybe even in the states! Congrats!
Who is training Rogie at the minute? I heard he split from John Breen, don't know how accurate that is though...
Great nights boxing ahead in castlebar lads with the big bernard dunne card, unfortunately i cant be there due to work.....hopefully he takes roghies lead 2nit n puts on a display,it'l be tough against machado though...at least il hve the tv n woods/tarver and cotto/gomez fights to console me afterwards!!!!
Rogan did split with Breen last year, but hes back with him again.Breen and Eamonn Magee did Rogies corner last night. Im looking to seeing Dunne tonight,it should be a cracking night of boxing.
DUNNE RARING TO ROCK "N" ROLL IN COMEBACK BOUT http://www.independent.ie/sport/oth...-to-rock-n-roll-in-comeback-bout-1345774.html
is mike perez on this card? looking forward to this tonight, should be a great night of boxing, machado should be a boxer that will allow dunne to impose himself on the fight and dunne should look to start quick in this fight, using his jab constantly just to wipe away any memory of kiko.
Yeah Perez is fighting tonight, although chief support is Andy Murray, so you might not see his fight. And I agree young Bernard needs to put the whole terrible experience of the Martinez nightmare well and truly behind him, and start anew again.:good
it wasnt just the performance of his last fight,it was his sheer idiocy when he was getting a beating, instead of trying to circle, tie up or just plain run,he tried to stand and slug with a guy twice the size of him,his ego was to big for his body and it came through,i really hope that he comes into the ring with modesty,if he wins he does it gracefully and shows respect and doesnt start speaking of himself like he is the '****'.im going to admit it,i'm a dunne hater,i see way too much ego and not enough talent,it may be harsh but its true. did you watch the heavyweight tourny last night ardy?any good?
A bit of arrogance isn't a bad thing for a fighter, but I agree he should have tied up or spoiled when hurt. I personnally like wee Bernard, and as an Irish boxing fan I'm greatful, as he was the reason why RTE got so heavily involved in professional boxing. I watched Prizefighter in my brothers and we got royally drunk as we cheered Rogie to victory. Great format, every fight was action packed, it was a complete success. Rogie wouldn't be denied, and he draped himself in the tri-colour[which Eamonn Magee supplied]for the TV interview afterwards. On another note, Barry McGuigan's son Shane is entering the Ulster seniors next week. The weigh-ins are today.
