Martin Rogan is being lined up for a shot at British heavyweight champion Danny Williams.

Rogan's stock rose dramatically when he claimed the Prizefighter title at the York Hall Bethnal Green and manager John Breen says the offers are starting to flow in for the Belfast man.
Rogan upset the odds when he outpointed David Dolan on Friday night, flooring him in the first and third rounds and landing the £25,000 jackpot.
Breen said: "Rogie proved himself on Friday night and now there's a real chance he'll fight for the British title, if not in his next fight then the one after that.
"Barry Hearn put on a great show on Friday and he loved the way Rogan won the title and he's keen to do business with us. Frank Maloney was also impressed with him and there are other offers as well...

 

thats a great price for getting to paris,hmmm must give that a wee think :think

it would be great to see rogan fight williams and im plenty sure it would be highly competitive,williams has seen better days and is most certainly not the most skilled,especially on the defensive and with rogan's offensive nature he would pose plenty of problems for williams.

 

Its a big step up in class but Williams can't have much left at this stage

 

hello fra, power is 27 and i think cresham is 25 he is being trained by sean mannion. Power looked ok but he got knocked down in the 1st so that will raise serious question marks over his chin. Cresham looked a lot better he has very good boxing skills but his defense needs some work and i wish he would let his hands go sometimes and show more aggression. His ko was amazing the guy was knocked out for 5 minutes.

 

There's not a hope in hell that Rogan could compete with Williams. Danny may have wasted his talent but he still has more than enough for british level. Anyone who say his 2nd to last fight with Oleg Platov can see that Danny still has a lot left.

 

I was there and didnt see Power going down in the first.They both wrestled to the ground alright but no count for either so no kd.
Power did finish it well though in the next round he's from the same club as Andy Lee St Francis in Limerick they have produced some good lads and they were sparring partners when they were younger (i was speaking to him after the show.nice guy)Cresham was impressive with the finish though i agree more shots needed.Well worth keeping an eye on.
Sweeney didnt impress me much but was under alot of pressure fighting at home and looked like he was trying abit too hard so i'll reserve judgement (great uppercut to finish though).
The rest Perez Murray and Dunne has being discussed already.
Not a bad nights boxing, winners were predictable though

 

thanks for the correction puca. Yes power is a very good finisher he didn't get overexicted he just stayed calm and banged some very well placed shot's. Sweeney is too fat and after he drew his last fight he was talking about going down to SMW or LHW but he hasn't done that yet, possible lack of decisipline also maybe his father shouldn't be in his corner anymore he was getting over-excited and shouting instuctions. It could be undermineing his trainer sean mannion as well.

hello ardy do you know who bernardo checa is i read in the irish dailiy star yesterday that he was living in befast and now mike perez's new coach. I hope gary hyde didn't give nicholas cruz the sack. Or maybe checa and cruz are working together.
