does anyone know whats happening with kevin mc bride...is he still giving it a go ??

i remember back in 95/96 he fought on the same card at the point as vinny {sligo kid} on undercard of lennox lewis v justin fortune...beat a guy called garber {dunno first name}...it was a wrestling match..they hugged each other till garber was puffed out in the middle rounds and was stopped...
but...after the fight vinny introduced me to kevin...and just messing i said 'one day you'll be fighting tyson', with a laugh...and he laughed back..and said..'ah - that would be some dream alright..eh'...
    crap story...sorry..

the general opinion on him that night to anyone i spoke to was 'fookin useless'..

That's a fight,I would love to see.The thing is, with Rogan's prizefighter success, he's big box-office now, so The Kings Hall isn't out of the question.

Yeah I would love to see that fight as well. Martin "Prizefighter" Rogan v Kevin "I beat Tyson ya know" McBride would have plenty of pull and might even get one of the O6 stations to show a bit of live boxing.

yeah.. i think peters wants to take Macklin.. the US route as he found it difficult...to sell him properly to the irish public...i read somewhere that the national stadium was only half full...for the campas fight

Things are a bit quiet at the moment on the Irish boxing scene. Peters or Egan could do with annouceing a few promotions.

aye,we've had it a bit too good for a wee while,i guess we'll just have to wait around for the big promotions to come along again, hopefully we'll have a busy summer with dunne, duddy, macklin, lee, mccloskey returning to the ring and of course the boys out in beijing.

Thats right its going to be an interesting summer.Theres also a likely chance that some of our Olympic boxers will turn professional after the games.

I hope not Barnes,Nevin and Joyce have an average age of 20 those lads wll be set for Londn 2012. Egan is ending his career on a high and will (i believe) become one the best trainers in irish boxing history.Sutherland as i have said before avoided Andy Lee for three years and only qualified on the last time of asking. His last 5 performances in the stadium have being booed. He is a dud i am sorry to say the other Darren (o neill) would have a better chance at a medal i think
