i was at press conference Paulie was being pushed by Phill Sutcliffe and Paulie answered with the facts that he is the IRISH and EU CHAMPION and is ranked 4 by EBU, Willie is not even in the EBU rankings and that was confirmed by Kiko who said Paulie was the main challenge he wanted because of his ranking and both Kiko and Paulie shook hands to get the fight on and i,m sure Paulie wont be losing any sleep about wether casey is happy or not

nor should he. this is the fight game, everyone is a grown man and a bit of agro is good sometimes as is some confident 'fighting talk'. nothing brings the general punter in more than a good heated rivalry:bbb

 

Is it possible Kiko has a preference to fight Paulie over Casey because he see's casey as a more difficult fight! I mean Casey has exploded on the scence where as Kiko has already seen paulie in action (they both shared bills in the tallaght and at Darren Sutherlands debut).

 

maybe so but if hyland were to fight kiko hyland boxes the ears off him all night long as long as he keeps his hands up

 

Exactly. If the lads are good enough they will get their chance. Paulie is obviously in the driving seat at the moment but as long as one of the lads can get that Euro title I'll be happy!
No point in the two lads fighting eachother for the Irish title because the loser has so much to lose and maybe not a lot to gain (although Casey would probably gain more from it than Paulie would)
Keep the lads apart and please God they battle it out for the Euro title in 12-18 months time.:happy

I was refering to the fact Paulie is the Irish champ and that Willie is the number 1 challanger

When he said Casey is a step back I took that as him meaning that he has no intention of defending his irish title

so either drop the Irish title and let casey go for it or fight Casey its really that simple lads :deal

Sure if this fight with Paulie comes off with Kiko, Paulie will have to give up the irish title i think (not too sure though) and If Willie is number 1 im sure Carlos will be more than willing to step in the ring with him.....

But in the paper today, Team Casey said if Willie wins on Saturday, they are sure they will have done enough to get Willie the fight against Kiko or the other guy.... Even if Willie wins he , will only be ranked #9 cos he will only take that guys place in the ranking system...

Only time will tell on what happens, But going by the Papers today about the press conference, Paulie only said a few words and Kiko said the rest..

 

Cool, thats actually 9 title fights on the 1 show, surely that has to be a record, Will have to order this Sky Box Office and flick between this and Carl Frampton show on Setanta
