    Thats what I like to see,a month back things seemed a little bleak for us in the irish boxing scene,good to see we gattin back on track and hopefully with some impressive wins to boot:bbb

    Hello ML, when you mentioned The Kennedy's, it brought back fond memories of my childhood.In whats known as the living room now, because the living room was called kitchen then:lol:, there was three framed pictures on the wall. Pride of place was The Sacrad Heart of Jesus, and one side of The Sacrad Heart was Pope Paul, and on the other side was John F. Kennedy.So I think it can be safe to assume, that the people of Ireland took great pride in The Kennedy's also.

    Thanks ardy i was wondering if I would get a response like that. I was always aware that the Kennedy's represented the arrival of the Irish in America, but was proud to hear how loved they were across the pond. Although some in my family thought they were to "lace curtain" it never changed the love they had for them. They have had around the clock coverage in the states and in one segment they interviewed the former Governor of Ny. He discussed his involvement along with Teddy and Tip O'neil in the troubles in Northern Ireland. At the end of the interview the commentator asked the old governor, what is it with the irish in politics and he declared "We invented it!!" It was a great line. Sadly its a death sentence for Teddy and the end of an era so everyone raise a glass. Ardy, if you like history you might like this footage of JFK in Ireland, it good stuff.

    It was WELL b4 my time but ive always been proud of them my parents even got the day off school when JFK come over!

    The day JFK got shot was a shocker! The people I was working for were irish and they kept updating the news for me, the guys wife was real upset.

    Hello Shamrock, it's nice to hear from you again.I was only a "twickle in my mothers eye" when JFK was murdered, but some of my older brothers tell the story of being brought to mass to pray and light candles for the dead president.

    Ml, that was excellent footage of JFK trip to Ireland.I remember being among 100,000 people in Belfast city centre trying to get a glimpse of another American president in 1995, that was Bill Clinton of course. Bush is coming over to address the Stormont Parliment here in the north next month. I wont tell you what I think of Bush, incase it offends some of the Americans that read this thread:lol:

    Yeah, that's something that needs fixing. I'll sit down this week and get them all done. At a quick think - Alio show, Sinky, Duddy, James Moore, Egan show, Dunne show, Lee show.
    The problem with space is solved so really I have no excuse
