Poonsawat was one of the most avoided men in his division before he had the title. Now having lost the title is he finding it hard to get big fights, how have golden boy been treating him and is his future in America?

Wish him all the best. He came across as very respectful and humble.

i thought if Maidana had caught him like he did in the 10th a little earlier he would have taken him out! He threw and missed a load of big punches before that round and must have had some power sapped from him!!

Was anybody down in Tallaght last night? I didn't go cause of thr bad weather and I generally couldn't be arsed.

I see the only home fighter to lose was debutant Paddy Ward, to the mighty Pavel Dolgovs. Looks like that fight with Rogan he was aiming for is back on hold now? :beat

Khan done well last night and just deserved the win. I wouldnt mind seeing a rematch. That 10th round I have seen fighters stopped for less than what Khan took on another night. I wonder he will be next for Khan but top notch to him last night still has a lot to learn before he goes in with the pound 4 pound top guys.

Jamie Kavanagh did anyone see the fight? First round stoppage I wouldnt mind if Golden Boy put the under card fights on there website so the fans can see all the fighters they are promoting.

    Just in from Liverpool.

Macklin was on the verge of pulling out of the fight in the days leading up to the fight with a severe chest infection and this was only known by a few. Hence the reason I tipped the 6/1 points win. He had to dig deep for that win.

    Better to come from Macklin.

praise when due, criticism when due.

Talk about fight with Lee and Duddy, actually fight with Kevin Hammond. You do the math!

You think there is any comparison between Ruben Varon and Kevin Hammond, you think there is even the most remote similarity in terms of levels?

If Macklin had a serious chest infection (and I do not wish to cast any doubts on that) was it not a very stupid decision to go ahead with the fight. A loss against Varon would have done serious damage to his career, ruined any world title ambitions at a time when he appears right on the verge of achieving such things.

Was Macklin really that sluggish lads? I was out perusing the taverns of this fine city and scoping out its comely maidens so I missed the fights. I've heard off a couple of people he was really poor.

Do many of you really think he lost or was it just that he was so below par it felt like a loss?
