114-114 on my card. Not that you'd think Lindsay had won more than a couple of rounds with the commentary being as it was. Apparently you can't win a round without walking forward and throwing a billion punches. No arguments either way as long as it's close on all cards. There shouldn't be more than a 2 point margin to be had regardless
I was gutted, after 4 rounds it seemed like it had draw written all over it. So I put 2 on the draw at 25-1.... But to be fair Simpson deserved it and i did score it 115-113, even with a possible subconcious bias...
I had Simpson ahead 116-114 Thought Lindsay was very flat. Maybe took his eye off the ball and was looking ahead to his next fight. Didn't box enough, no jab, no movement. Started off with 3 lovely jabs after the opening bell but stood toe-to-toe for the majority of the fight. What next for him? Maloney's 3 fight plan has gone down the drain EDIT I actually had it 114-114 but I thought Simpson had won, (if that makes sense)
actually I just totted it up again and I gave it to Simpson 1 - L 2 - S 3 - L 4 - S 5 - S 6 - S 7 - S 8 - L 9 - L 10 - S 11 - S 12 - L 115-113
Simpson seemed to win by investing well with the body shots. Lindsay can bounce back from this as long as he gets at least 4/5 fights in next year. @ easy fights then step up for the summer. Rematch Simpson or face Smith. Anyone know how Jamie conlon got on?
I was the same as this but gave Lindsay the 11th. Lindsay's high held guard meant he was open to the body and you could hear billy nelson telling simpson to just throw straight punches. Anyone else think that Lindsay seems to mark up easily? Thats a few times now hes got bad eyes and its the first real battle hes been in, apart from derry matthews I suppose
I forgot about this fight while watching the Liverpool game fell asleep on the chair and come on here to find out Lindsey got beaten. Will have to watch it latter tonight if it is repeated or some time tomorrow. What a shame for Lindsey I rememeber the last Hayemaker card he topped in Belfast and he was brilliant that night. Since he left Hayemaker he has gone backwards from then. To be honest get the rematch straight away as you dont want to be building up to a British title fight as he is good enough as it is to just go for the rematch early March.
It's been a long shitty day lads, absolutely gutted, I gave it to Simpson by 2 rounds. He looked sharper and stronger throughout. Talk to yiz soon
