Irish Boxing

Hi Ardy, I doubt Duddy has done enough since his beatdown to be considered a viable contender for Pavlik. I thought 3 - 4 fights would have been the go to establish his boxing skills and set him to discipline before he gets too high too quick. What do you think?
Duddy has the heart of a warrior, but can his head control his heart?? Thats the question! Needs a couple more tangos to get his dance movements set before dancing with the stars.

 

Hello Ardy/Shamrock - I have a limited knowledge of the boxing world, but a solid enough base in the way the commercial world operates. I agree with Ardy that the Irish Ropes boys want to get John in with Pavlik asap. They can't afford a loss before the Pavlik fight. Thus any opponents he faces between now and then will be handpicked with the main criteria no defeats. Having watched the fight on Saturday night, I feel that John could be made for Pavlik. He doesn't move his head enough, in fact he didn't move it at all against Smichet.
Lockett looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights against Pavlik. Very little head movement and Pavlik found it very easy to pummel him.

 

I heard there will be a press release this week about Andy Lee's show in Limerick where an opponent will be named.Apparantly it is somewhat of a name and not a journeyman like we all thought it would be.
Dont know who guys but if i hear i'll let you know.

 

Thanks for that puca. I don't know what you think, but I was hoping they would ease young Lee back into winning ways with a safe opponent.

 

Looks like Sinky put up a good fight against the Italian, even the Italian reporter said the fight could have been scored closer, which in my book translates to a robbery against Sinclair.It's always the same when you fight in Europe, I remember Brian and Eamonn Magee both being robbed in European title fights in Germany.

 

I hate to see Irish-ropes going the cash cow route, but I guess it depends on how long Duddy wants to stay around. At any rate,I hope they listen to Pat Burns' advice. He's been around boxing a long time.Un fortunately sometimes Irish- ropes reminds me too much of the "wacko twins", Jones and Rappaport, the guys who ruined Cooney.

Anyone got any news on the rumored rogan v harrison fight? Is it close to being confirmed? I think a win here is essential for rogan if he has any ambition of going further.

 

i hear its been confirmed...for wales...the fight is on big enzos undercard 12th july...i think big rogie is the bees knees...but i cant c him beating harrison...unless he rushes him early and gets lucky...i hope im wrong...but thats the way i c it:-(

 

I do like Murray - a lot - what I said was tongue in cheek as I am a big ***an fan. A ***an v Murray fight would be a coin toss imo

All he has to do is hit Fraudley once and he will fall down.Seriously if Rogan can take some of Harrisons early shots and stay on his feet he has a chance ala Michael Sprott

 

I know. Big George is great. The way I read it, I think it was like, Burns has his own cutman, and you take em' both or nothing. Too bad though...
