Thats what i thought aswell Mick.Big risk for Lee.If he wins this would go a long way to irradicate the loss to Vera another loss though leaves a very young career in tatters.Calculated risk i guess.

 

I've seen Gibbs fight 2 or 3 times, last time he got obliterated by Miranda in the 1st and before that he went tooth and nail with Lenord Pierre, the same guy that Duddy destroyed inside a minute.Although his record looks good he is really just a decent journyman tailormade for a prospect looking to make some noise.

 

Exciting times for Lyndsey.Hope he kicks on in the next 9 months and picks up at least one title.Hes a nice lad with a lot of talent.With Duddy Lee and now Moore having to build comebacks so to speak he could be the first of this generation of Irish fighters to pick up a decent title.ie British commonwealth or european.

 

I see the Prince concert was cancelled - presumably for low sales. Hope that doesnt roll in to boxing

 

I hope your right but i still think a softer opponent could have been found.
On another note who do you think will fill Jim Rocks place on rte for the 12th.He's quite entertaining and i find him funny (not always for the right reasons)Can you imagine if Mick Dowling bashes him like he does some guys then the sparks would fly in Limerick the following week

 

Dowling comes across a sa bit of a pompous git with his know all attitude. He never even boxed pro ad was a decent amateur on the national scene but hardly the world legend he might like everyone think he was. I prefer Rock and would like to see Dowling dropped and maybe Steve Collins brought back. Or what about McGuigan he's not doing much with ITV these days and has a lot of free weekends.

 

I agree with you on Gibbs as well. Seems a risky fight to come back on after a loss. Put it this way prior to Lee beaing beaten by Vera you'd probably have called Gibbs and Vera a 50/50 fight so I think it's a tough one becuase another defeat for Andy doesn't bear thinking about.

 

Anyone kow who Kiko Martinez is fighting in Dublin? I think himself and Patrick or Paul Hyland would be great fights. Even if he beat Hyland he couldn't do any worse than Dunne so even a mid round stoppage defeat would have people thinking that one of the Hylands and Dunne would be a good scrap too.

I know it doesn't work like that but seems a good risk for the Hylands to take.

i must disagree with you lads because I like mick but I can understand why people wouldnt, like rock too but somebody should tell him to use less hairgel.

But you have to agree Jimmy mc gee is great.

 

I dont think it was ticket sales that done it more to do with prince. Read in the indo that they were almost gone.
