Looking forward to seeing how Thomas Hardwick gets on in his pro debut in New York on the 19th of this month, he is fighting a guy from his own gym (Gleasons) who is 0-2. Talked to a few friends over there who say he's meant to be in good shape weighs around 220 now, he won the Novice Golden Gloves at 201 so he's bulking up.

 

Jaysus lads I nearly pissed myself reading this. The Molester? Brilliant.

I wouldn't be calling him a pox bottle either! I like my teeth where they are thanks very much.

 

Anybody going over for the Murray fight? I hope he gets a decent bit of support heading over.

 

What's the story with Dean Byrne. What an utter disappointment his career has been. Hasn't had a decent fight in two years.

 

He signed with Warren but got a fair old cut over his left brow whilst sparring with Dezzi Higginson in the lead up to the Blackburn mans fight with Andy Murray.

He also just got his hand sorted once and for all whilst the eye healed.

As soon as his brian scan comes through then Warren his have him on a card.

Ireland got beaten 5-4 agaisnt germany tonight in a round robin tourney .

Apart from Nevin , Hickey and Ward who will come back into the team for the Euros anyone else think Donovan/Joyce , Turner and Mcloughlin should replace McDonagh, McMonagle and Nolan for them as they arent doing it on the international stage as the other lads mentioned have proven international success even though they havent won the seniors this year .


Ward and Nolan are out injured for this event .

Germany edged out Ireland in Cottbuss, Germany tonight.

Michael Conlon, Willie McLaughlin, Darren O'Neill and Con Sheehan recorded victories.

But wins over Tyrone McCullagh, Michael McDonagh, Ray Moylette Ken Egan and Cathal McMonagle secured a 5-4 victory for the hosts.

Conlon got Ireland off to a winning start with a 5-0 decision over Tom Tran in the flyweight class.

But three straight wins for Germany over Tyrone McCullagh, Michael McDonagh - who lost out to Olympic Youth Champion Artur Bril - and Ray Moylette put the home team into a 3-1 lead.

McLaughlin and O'Neill chalked up impressive decisions over Alexander Miller and Denis Radovan to level the tie at 3-3, but Egan, despite producing a fine third round, loss out 15-12 to Tyron Zeuge.

Sheehan made it 4-4 after shading Alexander Povernov by a one point margin, but McMonagle was beaten by Eric Pfeifer in the super-heavyweight class in the final bout of the night.

Ireland are taking part in a training camp and Round Robin with two German squads and Great Britain in Frankfurt Oder and Cottbuss. We'll meet Germany again on Friday and Team GB on Sunday.

Katie Taylor is due to join up with the Irish team tomorrow. European light-flyweight champion Paddy Barnes is also with the Irish squad in Germany. However, neither the hosts or GB are using light-flyweights in their squads.

Lads what are your predictions on Canelo v Rhodes
I see golden boy have brought in McEwan to spar with canelo I see that as a good idea as he is quite elusive and probably the most skilled boxer Canelo has fought or sparred that he didn't have a size advantage over

 

Agree on McLoughlin, disagree on Turner and jeez, its hard to call on McDonagh/Joyce/Donovan. My pick DOJ but I'v no problem with Eric(a class perforner) or McDonagh-I thought he really handled DOJ his ass in the Nationals-three great boxer though.
Makarov(european champ), Pfeifer and Zeuge are all current German champs and Vahrenholt an experienced international while as stated Bril is a world youth champ so the guys who lost arguable met the better opposition.

 

Moylette has lost quite a few close decisions in the last while if i recall. He lost on a countback in the European championships last year, lost to Hickey by a close decision in the 09 nationals. And now again against the German.

 

Why what you heard??Dates ,fighters etc.is this the one being ran by the IPBA.I dont care who they are the more fight nights the better as far as im concerned will the Storm be on i wonder Donnellan too who else we got from Galway??

Update of the fantasy football and it would seem that with 2 games to go that the winner will be Damien who has a 50 + gap. Been a decent game.
