Couldn't agree more. Very paranoid indeed. There was stuff said about Cork people a few days ago (99% banter) and no Cork person got the hump over it. And that was blatant. Here there isn't even a hint of anti-dub sentiment! it's pretty outrageous really! In Bernard Dunne's own book he admitted that an earlier "world" belt he won was only there to help draw in a bit more interest. He was just short of admitting that the belt was a joke. Everyone knows the truth about the WBF title, including the expert Greenjab himself. And yes it is insulting too... I'm sure you yourself slap have many pals from the Dublin boxing scene

Well i rec if that belt was on the line down in Galway with Mash providing the ring walk there wouldn't be such a fuss.

 

Willie still waiting on Dolphil to sort something for him, Fitzer and Lee wont happen unless Brian Peters or another big promoter puts it on. Not sure about how many people are heading over to Macklin, I rec most folk might spend their money going to Wales, I will anyway.

Hope Patrick Hyland has a go outting on the 25th. Think here is the best of the brothers and capable of winning decent titles.

With the depression at the start of the year over RTE coverage this is turning out to be the most remarkable year yet for Irish Professional boxing. Casey, Magee, McCloskey and now Macklin going for world titles. Murray fighting for a European on sky, Patrick Hyland knocking on the door of a European title,Rogan looking at a big fight in Germany and Andy Lee becoming a HBO fighter with the smell of a world title in the air. Heady days.

A world title win for Andy or Macklin would really build momentum for the olympics, get the sport a much higher recognition get media coverage and TV/RTE back on side and give our top pros and the new lads looking to turn over a fighting chance.

 

this anti Dub paranoia is quite amusing. One thing I would like to know green jab is what actually happened with the Khan/Dudey raffle from the citywest? When I bought the tickets I was told the draw would be in the ring after the fight. Was waiting round after till you said the draw wouldnt be made on the night but the result would be put on dolphils website. It wasnt. As far as Im aware they didnt post the winner on their facebook page, cant be sure though as I was removed from their page for a while without knowing because I had the cheek to ask for an explanation as to why security just watched people with cheapest tickets rob others seats and block the view of other patrons. So what actually happened with the raffle? Dont think its very fair to lead people on the way they were that night. So was it all just a fiddle or what?

If you think its some culchie conspiracy against the Dubs wanting to fight for the WBF then have a read of this thread on the British forum where they have discussed merits of the WBF title.........maybe they predicted that there would be a Dub fighting for the title and decided to lay into just to get at the Hylands!? :tired

Firstly I am not part of Dolphil Promotions so I cant answer most of your questions, I organised the writing and selling of fight programmes and ansewered questions about the raffle with the information I received from Dolphil. I also sold Dolphil the trips for that raffle and I recived payment for the tickets and transport. Now more importantly why dont you contact Dolphil promotions and ask them or head down to Crumlin boxing club and ask someone there instead of talking about it on here, and just to state I recived full payment of Dolphil promotions for all the work I did for them.

 

Willie is back from Holidays this week and will have a chat about his future i hear- but i hear they are strugglening to get him a big fight!I hear, the even rang maloney etc trying to get him on Sky! Dont know why they dnt try and do Lee Fitzy and willies comeback in Limerick???

Fitzer Lee looks decreasingly likely too-Lee wanted it in July- so still hope
