That's one hell of a win for the Ulster runner-up!
Best result by an Irish boxer this year? Well done, Michael.

I think its safe to conclude that Ireland is now the best amateur team in western Europe. Young Michael Conlon is an absolute star [and only 19], I expect big things from this kid in the ams and then the pros from here on in. He has tough fight against the Italian Olympic bronze medalist Picardi next. But Michael has beaten this boxer before in Belfast last year [ in the Donegal Celtic Social Club], so I would expect the same this time around also.

The lad is still a youth, so no shame but it opens the door for DO and Donovan.

€22 euro for the Haye fight. How come Sky always charge over the odds to there Irish customers for fights. The ****ers are charging us a extra £5 for the fights compared to there UK customers. I havnt bought a PPV in a long time was going to buy this in but **** it will head to the pub to watch it instead.

Good two-page write up on Irish boxing in the Sunday World, Big spread on Macklin on his Irish roots and apparently Joe Gallagher is a 'Sligo native'. Also, a piece on Michael Sweeney who is out sparring with Vlad again and reveals that Vlad is planning on a fast start against Haye. Interview with Carlos who talks about his ideal Wayne McCullough and his desire to one work with wayne and Freddie Roach in Vegas.
