Watch the Nevin fight; [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZBmPx34tgk[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcFm7NNljwQ[/ame]
PTS 13 : 12 R1 3 : 4 R2 6 : 4 R3 4 : 4 That was the scoring from the Great Nevin Robbery, 3 questions; 1) Where did the Russian land 13 punches, did he throw 13? 2) How the hell did he win the second? 3) Why could the highlights slowmo not find ONE scoring punch for the "winner"? The Russians think Ivanov was robbed, they should look at this.
Good video of the Hyland weigh in and good atmosphere. Will anyone be recording the card tomorrow? It would be great to watch it online from Hyland website or youtube?
Just watched it there. Disgusting robbery. Nevin should have won the first about 10-1, the second a similar score and the third was nevin's as well. Nevin must be sick as a dog, hope he doesn't get discouraged and comes back stronger than ever.
I know, I hate to harp on about it on this great day, but JJN deseved to be up with Ray and Joe, that was the performance of the championship from an Irish point of view, Polyansky is arguable the best 56kg man in the World, and he was dominated and made look like a plodder.
Matt, I only saw Ward's semi final fight yesterday and he looked like he was throwing less punches than his opponent but picking his shots and countering well and got the decision fairly handily. But until I saw the score I thought it could have went either way. On the other extreme there is Nevin. I havent seen the video of Nevin and wont watch it because I know exactly what you and everyone is talking about and it will only **** me off to watch it, it is the reason why amateur boxing makes me want to pull my hair out. Another, unaccountable disgraceful decision.
About 10 seconds into that video Nevin landed two body shots right away I knew they weren't being scored. Ams is awful to watch I spend more time looking at the counters for shots than the fight at times which just adds to it.
me thinks okane will get hard lesson 2mara in the ways of the pro game... when tolan butts the **** out of him:shock::good
Reported in today's Newsletter.....Rogie's EBU Title shot is in the balance, he is/was due to face Kubrat Pulev. "I am far from happy. I am raging with the way this has worked out. I did not mind them changing the guy I was fighting. I would fight anyone of them, but I was told the fight would be at the end of July or beginning of August. "They now want the fight to take place on July 16 and I will not be ready for then. I have been training away and getting ready, but I am not going over ther half baked. "I was going there to win, no be an opponent. This is a huge opportunity for me. I have spoken to them and hopefully they will move the date."
