Irish Boxers having a fairly petty dig at Green Jab about the Hyland show. 'A disappointingly poor crowd of around 800 fans showed the lack of a professional marketing and the need for a proper publicity campaign, this is something which needs addressing if shows in the capital are to become successful again. “A poor advertising strategy resulting in a poor crowd” is how one pugilist described the turnout, and when you look at the title fight on the card and the Irish boxers on the show one has to agree with his assessment.' http://www.irishboxers.ie/hyland-punish-frenois/ Thats a bit rich coming from a man that organised a press conference without any press! :nut Using his website to push a personal agenda is only marginally more embarrassing then the way he uses unnamed sources. The "one pugilist said" above is good but my own personal favourite being the frequent use of 'some experts believe' 'Some boxing experts see a big future for Coyle as he has that exciting style of come forward boxing throwing power shots with venom' And before he fell out with Fitzer because the Anto wouldnt hand over his belt for the failed show in Galway, remember, back when he was saying Fitzer was a world champion for winning the WBF inter-thingamebob title and that Andy Lee would want to try and chase his title, he was saying 'Anthony has impressed many boxing experts with his performances' http://www.irishboxers.ie/fitzy-calls-for-winner-of-barker-spada/
In fairness to Fitz - I think he's dead right to hold onto that Irish title now that he appears to have had a reassement of his standard and ability. But in the same light he should now have to defend the title and Ciaran Healy looks interested to say the least..
I agree that he shouldnt have given it up for nowt. He has defended it enough times to be allowed hold on to it for a fair while - Kevin McBride and Darren Corbett anyone! What I am sayin is that "some people" seem to have turned on him because he didnt, when before that they were saying he was a world champion! Where is the objectivity. When you look at the posioned pen article sent to boxingnews24.com and then look at this stuff it makes you wonder.

100 percent. childish and very very unprofessional but i was told Fitz was going to give up the belt untill "some people" wrote some more crap about him and he kind of said why should i give it up for that person after some of the things he has said about me.Or words to those affect. So it seems a bit of bitterness came back to bite him on the ass.
was thinkin of givin him stick on his website yesterday .the chap is a joke and his website is embarrasin ..now hes comin out with all sorts of shite .****in eeijt
yeah I spotted that alright, sorry - I wasn't implying you were saying he should vacate. The presence of a certain Cork man in the middleweight division is another reason why Fitz should probably consider campaigning at super middle
3 irish boxers through to the european junior championships semi finals john nevin (think hes a cousin of jj nevin) v pat mccormack 50kg luke thomas watergrasshill (same gym as cubans) v isaac mcleod 63kg both english opponent martin conroy ballyhaunis v tsitsilashvili 75kg georgia
still no news of a big fight or any fight for ian tims he deserves a couple decent paydays all talk of the likes of irish americans like bobby gunn interested in a potential match up nothing seems to be happening for him.
With regards Bobby Gunn, one unnamed boxer expert said to me that "he isnt ranked by any recognised organisations, doesnt qualify to fight for an Irish title and would cost a fortune to get over here." Is that true or false?
Frampton could be boxing Kiko Martinez for European title on September 10, on the McCloskey bill.:bbb
