    Oh right, if the seniors is on before the other qualifiers then the national champions will get to go to the worlds as usual im guessing.

    I'm not so sure that they would have to ask ward if they were to ask moylette. After all, Hickey won the seniors so they could strongly argue that he deserves a box-off.
    Even though Ken Egan has proven his international credentials time and again over the years, I don't think they would really have to ask Ward for the box-off. Sure, Egan may deserve a box-off because of his previos exploits- but there is really no obligation as he lost in the seniors and ward won gold in the euros.
    The combination of winning both the Irish Seniors and the Euros puts ward in a different position to Moylette. Then again, who knows whats going through the IABA's heads?

    McDonagh won the GG in 85 as a HW as a novice.

    Not sure what category Thomas won.

    But and here is the but that count, Seamie was not born in Ireland!

    Just to confirm Hardwick won the novice section of the golden gloves(less than 5 bouts),i in no way mean to demean that as im sure it is as tough as some of our national competitions (intermediate level maybe)but its easy for others to think it was the elite open competition he won the way its being talked about in some reports and on some other sites and that is a very big deal to win.

    honestly i would say the novice new york golden gloves is no better or worse than the irish golden gloves novices
    all in all no disrespect a novice heavy weight who won in ireland wouldnt get an ounce of the attention hardwick is gettin

    another lad in aus is makin his debut tony bates
    had a look on youtube and he seems to have fast hands
    hes about 23 aswell so time is on his side

    golden gloves novice in new york is anyone under 10 fights . think hardwicke fought for glasnevin in the intermediates a few years ago
