got an Irish team going into a celebrity boxer footie match in Essex in two weeks. On the same team we have - Fitzer and Murtagh and maybe even Spike, Prunty and likely Haughian and O'Brien and also McDonagh and Byrne. Now McDonagh says Byrne and him are lined up to fight for a WBO inter title. Nearly had Macklin and Lee on the same team but Lee has now gone back to Detroit. Jaysus one step forward two steps back. A SBW that couldn't punch his way out of a wet paper bag and who hasn't fought in two years. Deadly :-(
Outrageous: http://www.fightnews.com/Boxing/sturm-man-up-macklin-91203 STURM tells Macklin to 'man up'. Get the boat Felix lad. I think, if there are other options out there for Macklin, take them. Sturm is getting panned by his own fans who can't believe he retained the belt. Mack can afford to be a little bit patient, now that he has actually fought for a world title. Another chance will come.
Macklin misses two contract deadlines in Sturm rematch negotiations This content is protected July 29th, 2011 This content is protected By Scott Gilfoid: Middleweight contender Matthew Macklin (28-3, 19 KOs) is blowing his chance for a rematch against World Boxing Association (WBA) Super World middleweight This content is protected Felix Sturm (36-2-1, 15 KOs) by reportedly missing two contract deadlines during the recent negotiations with Sturms management according to fightnews. This isnt good for Macklin, because Sturm said they could move on and look to fight someone else on November 26th in Cologne, Germany. Macklin lost to Sturm by a 12 round split decision on June 25th in a fight that some boxing fans thought should have gone to Macklin. Personally, I had Sturm This content is protected by a fairly wide margin of four rounds. I actually had it by more than that but I gave Macklin some rounds where he was busier but throwing sloppy and weak shots. Sturm landed the harder and cleaner shots all throughout the fight. Macklin started off well in the first four rounds, throwing a ton of punches but by the 5th, his form went downhill, as he quickly tired and began to look sloppy and weak. Sturm took control of the fight and dominated for the remainder of the bout with his much, much better jab and power shots. Macklin just looked like he lacked the power in his shots. Something was missing from the guy. Physically, Macklin looked bigger than Sturm, but the power just wasnt there. Hopefully, Macklin can hit the weights and become stronger but I cant see that happening. At 29, Macklin is likely as strong as hell ever be, so hes probably stuck with his lack of power. Sturm said that Macklin used his head a lot in their fight and hes going to make sure that this doesnt happen in a rematch. However, Macklin might just blow it by his This content is protected not responding in time to make the fight with Sturm.

WACH KOs McBRIDE http://www.fightnews.com/Boxing/wac...&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=wach-kos-mcbride MAGEE GETS SECOND CRACK AT WORLD TITLE http://www.u.tv/Sport/Magee-gets-second-crack-at-world-title/b680bf4d-36b8-4377-9590-fa4ea2d2f14b ROGAN UP FOR CLASH WITH FURY http://www.newsletter.co.uk/sport/other-local-sport/rogan_up_for_clash_with_fury_1_2900007 The bad news is McBride was brutally KOed by Wach, and he was apparently still unconscious when stretchered out of the ring. I hope and pray he is Ok, and hope this is the last time Kevin ever laces on a pair of gloves. Good luck tonight to Magee as a win will propel him into some decent money fights in Europe. A fight with Groves would be ideal, as Brian would start favourite to beat him, but one fight at a time I suppose.
thanks Fra- under pressure to star making a few more bob now so i might have to slow down-soon or get a few people to write more stuff..
McBride got hurt badly last night, I hope the **** he's ok and has the sense to stay out of the ring now.
