Those are all top class fights for the irish title imo, as good as any british title fight.

 

All still alive, Sheehan(Roy) has proved me wrong twice already but I'll stick!

 

sport of kings did ya not see the lad at Coyles shoulder sweating profusely? Bloody head off Pat Shortt, that along with Coyle being kinda uncomfortable with the mic in his face and the whole atmosphere. Just had that feel of Vegas coming to Rural Ireland.

Thats what people around Henrys area are like, my grandmother was from Geesala, and the people there are about as rural and down to earth as you will find

Geesala does still feel like it thinks the Quiet Man is an episode of Eastenders. I remember two of my old brothers were fightin the Connaught championship in Bellmullet in the late 80's and I felt like I was going back in town - and that was only from Sligo Town!

Anyway, joke title aside, the show and production went well. The fights were interesting and relatively well matched and I made a truck load of Coveney (4/1) and Sweeney KO (2/1) so I am happy. Much love!

Back to the box-offs.
Kudos to the IABA for realizing the errors in their thinking and make the necessary steps to avoid a stand-off.
Also kudos to this forum which articulated the problems with the IABA position.
The box-offs have helped in a way by providing a way to get Ward, Egan and Sheehan into the team, if that's the way it pans out. Barnes, Conlon(if he wins) Nevin, DOJ(if he wins) and O'Neill should join them.
That leaves 64 kg where if Hickey wins then a Moylette-Hickey box-off looks inevitable and whoever of O'Reilly/Sheehan takes 69 will he box off McLaughlin?

Lads what's the story with this Johnny Caldwell 25 fights Irish record craic ?, it's simply not true as John Duddy went to 26-0, if we're talking about winning records, and if it's unbeaten then 'Nonpareil' Jack Dempsey got to 44 fights unbeaten.

So I'm not really sure what Hyland's team are trying to claim :huh

Fair play to ya Matt. O'Reilly's impressive win tonight suggests he could indeed beat sheehan, even if the athy man is back to his best. You were on the ball with the majority of todays wins. I was well off with a few of mine (e.g. brabazon, okungbowa) but had to add a bit of competition/controversy to the predictions I'll go against 2 of your predictions for 2mo and back sheehan (69kg) and O'Reilly (75kg).
O'Reilly will be unlikely cos i think he was well beaten in the 2010 ulsters by quigley - if my memory serves me correct :think But I won't go near any of the other predictions you've made for the finals as they should all be fairly straightforward

 

Will kenny egan's chin be able to stand up to the power of the heavyweights? Got a count against Ward at 81kg and Tommy McCarthy who has only recently moved up from LHW. How would he fair in the worlds against established heavyweights?
