Michael O'Reill wasnt picked for the European youths , the IABA is run by a bunch of clowns , the lad is the best boxer bar Joe Ward imo at that age and is not picked . Bizzare !!!!

 

never boxed cummings but would love to reakon his come forward style would suit me say make great scrap, boxed o'reilly 3 times beat him once he beat me twice they where always close scraps he's good lad, boxed quigley twice first fight was close only 1 point in it for the first two rounds then lost the head chasing him and got beaten by 4 or 5 points, he's very slippery he beat me in last year seniors aswel but was away in france working and shouldnt have even entered, doubt he would do o'neill, darren has his style figured out seems to deal with him handy. when back training and fit would like to get match up with cummings sorted enjoyed watching him against quigley in box-offs.

 

Just back from Carlos' presser in Belfast. Interesting news which might well rule out Fury-Perez - Eddie Hearn claimed Perez is on their card.

 

some joke alrite was very impressed with him in box-offs heard he cudve easily got decision against sheehan aswel dont know if anyone else heard the same??? shame he didnt win them wouldve gave them a headache on who to select and served them right for not sending him the europeans!

 

Do we know who Perez is fighting on the card? Seems after Prizefighter and the way Perez done well that he would be picked up by Matchroom to me. So for Perez this could well be a good move for him I wouldnt mind seeing Perez v Fury to be fair.

“An offer has been made to Perez’s team, Hughie Fury told Boxrec. “Perez is a good fighter, a southpaw, and is well known in Ireland, so hopefully we’ll get the fight on Tyson sparred with Perez just prior to turning pro - he held his own in the first session and in my opinion he dominated the second session.

“We also submitted an offer to David Price and we are waiting to hear back. We’d like to get Price into the ring now while the fight means something as there is a real possibility Price could come unstuck against

Either fight would be a most interesting encounter, and credit must go to big Fury for seeking out such good opponents. Currently THE hottest heavyweight up-and-comer in the U.K, the 23-year-old reigning British and Commonwealth champ has a genuine desire to fight the best fighters he can as he continues to learn his trade.

16-0(12) Perez, the winner of “Prizefighter: The heavyweights” back in May, has lamented the fact that he has been unable to find himself a fight since. Talented and hungry, the 25-year-old Cuban would make a great rival for the 6’9” Fury. A 50-50-looking fight, at least in my opinion, this one would be great for the fans - those living in the U.K especially, seeing as how they would get to see the match-up free via Chanel 5.

As for former Olympian Price, he beat Fury as an amateur, and the gifted boxer who is almost as tall as Fury would likely feel he could repeat the victory. But seeing as how 28-year-old Price, 11-0(9) must meet McDermott in a British title elimination bout in November as Hughie Fury said, there is a chance he will turn down the September date on the grounds that it would mean two fights in pretty quick succession. And of course, we have no knowledge of how financially sound the made offer is.

It is to be hoped one of the two fighters Fury has put on notice agree to the fight, though. Whoever wins will be one step further in their quest to reach the very top. ​

Just two things Johnny, one small mistake in that you've put WBF Super-Middleweight title rather than Light-Middleweight in the opening paragraph, no big deal really.

The other thing however is claiming there are only 7 versions of the World title. Currently we have WBA, WBC, WBO, IBF, IBO, WBU, IBA, WBF, WBF(that's right there's two of them !), WBB, IBU, GBC, GBU, UBO all operational so that's at least 14 but I've probably left quite a few out.

Also when you write 'Coyle may not have collected the least prestigious of the straps', you are correct, but I'm surely you really meant most rather than least . But that's just being pedantic.

The real thing is Coyle's team seem to be a bit delusional, or at least their talking that way. Saying they didn't get an IBF World title shot cause the powers that be put Bundrage in with Powell........well Bundrage is (and was) the champion, so there's no surprise they'd want him fighting for their belt. Even if they meant it the other way round Powell was the IBF mandatory for the belt, why would an unranked, undeserving fighter get the fight instead, that's just pure fantasty stuff.

The worst part of all this is I do like Coyle (tbh it's hard not to), and he's not too bad, he can box a bit and bang a bit. But they're talking way above their station and really they should be trying to secure Coyle as the number 1 man in the country at the weight. Even if they insist on using that WBF title instead of the Irish, he really should be facing the other top Irish fighters at Light-Middle. If he's to face a foreign opponent in a defence of that belt it better be a significant step up from Cotena and not another man with a fancy record and not much substance. Otherwise eventually people out west might cop on to what's really going on out there.

100 percent agree with this, a real fan friendly fight.Would be another great night up wesshhtt probably would have to be for the wbf title to get coverage again but this can and should be done.

This decision to omit O'Reilly is the worst and most blatant biased decision yet and that's saying something. He is our best hope for gold, no question he has hammered top Russians and Cubans and also the excellent Christy Joyce, this was staged madness. SOMEBODY CRY STOP!
