Good list Matt, I remember thinking in the last Olympics that Zou Shiming looked unbeatable. A lot can change in four years and around the time Paddy Barnes was winning the Europeans and the Commonwealths, I honestly starting thinking that he had closed the gap on the Chinese boxer, but obviously since then through injury and inactivity Barnes form has slipped a little. Do you think Barnes has a chance against Shiming ? Who would your tip for gold be in this category, Matt ?

Shiming still the man I think but Jong-Hun is closing fast. Paddy can medal with luck but he needs fights IMO.

fair play to you its tough going alright,:good
I was at the national niovice semi finals and jesus the standard was very high,I was expecting a bit of a white collar thing but there were a lot in it that will be pushing for the intermediate title IMO.

You might not be far wrong. It's becoming more popular nowadays for guys to take the sport up later in life, with fellas not working and all that. So a lot of the novices might only have 10/11 fights but with a bit more experience (fights over the summer and a lot of training, etc.) could make an impact at the intermediates.

fair play moorser. I substitute for them whenever I can. Its a great way too keep up the white collar when there is no show for your own club. There is always someone who drops out too. On the novices - a lot of novices I see are border line inter mediates. To be honest I know 1 novice who I say would beat hald the intermediates at my club.
